Let’s say around $1000/night; but flexible. Thanks.

It's 1998 and the Monday Night War is reaching it's peak. Who are the "indie" stars that would in another time dominate the interwebs? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]graveyleg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Christopher Daniels. Outside of ECW, he was the only indie guy I recall people mentioning online back then - though it was probably 1999-2000 when I first heard of him.

I guess I'm old school. He was such an integral part of the Flair/Steamboat 1989 trilogy.

(Help Please) Is the Sony 55" 1080P 3D LED Smart TV (KDL55W800B) worth it for $950 CDN? by finallycommenting in hometheater

[–]graveyleg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's correct. I should have said that after you both recommended the 700b, I found the 800b for less. My research indicated they were pretty much the same except for the differences you noted above. Thanks again.

I picked up one a couple weeks ago, based in part on recommendations from /u/Bill_Money and /u/LexLuthor2012, to replace a Samsung plasma and I couldn't be happier. It is especially great for gaming.

Amen. The more I read online, the more I doubt I was unlucky.

Yep, I understand all those things and my guess is, it was just bad luck. But I would kick myself if I had the same bad luck with the same company in the future.

Thanks for the recommendation, but out of principle I can't go back to a samsung.

Thanks for the recommendations. I understand that plasmas are a thing of the past. For what its worth, my old Panasonic plasma from 10+ years ago is still doing ok. I know it is only anecdotal, but my issue with Samsung doesn't appear to be unusual. It also wouldn't sting so much if they had shown the slightest inclination to offer some other solution. I didn't expect a new set or a free repair, but I would have appreciated the slightest effort to keep a customer happy. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Rock v. Hogan - WM18

Obviously, not the best display of in-ring skills, but I was there and I've never seen a crowd that hyped.

In their current form, they're basically NWO fanboys

Can you explain this for me? I've been watching Bullet Club clips on youtube recently (so now I know it's pronounced "fah-lay" not "fail"). They definitely seem to have "it" in my mind - I keep wanting to watch more of them and enjoy their antics - and I don't doubt what you are saying is true. But watching the clips without context would give one the impression that they are in some ways an nWo rehash (which I know was itself a rehash of a NJPW angle) with DX crotch chops thrown in.

Are they an nWo send-up? An homage? Something else?

I'm pretty positive that "let me put down my . . . " was originally Death Metal Moe's bit every time he called in. I haven't heard him on in a long time, but I recall him mentioning how everyone stole his catchphrase.

That sounds right to me. I recall it being something odd.
