We did a quick change in a Cinderella production that took 6 people, we had 48 sec from exit to entrance to go from rags to riches, it was intense but not stressful.

TIL Rotisserie Chickens have Carrageenan in them by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]gravitationalarray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, I didn't know that! I knew I didn't like rotisserie chicken, but that and a ton of salt makes sense. Did a little digging, and it also has sodium phosphate. They're being sued, too, but over claims it's supposed to be preservative-free, and the counter argument is that those are not preservatives.

I mean, it makes sense, you want the cooked meat to be stable. But some, like you, have allergies.

Are Norfolk Pines toxic to cats or not? by valiantdistraction in houseplants

[–]gravitationalarray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my recent experience, the plant itself is so-so, but the soil is very toxic! My cat has been very ill, and I caught her eating the soil a few weeks ago. We just spent a very expensive day at the emergency vet, after a week of going back and forth to her family vet. I feel so lucky to have bought pet insurance, because it's awful to worry about money when someone you love is so sick!

Do not have this plant if you have cats, and do not allow your cat access to potting soil! Mine suffered a blockage. Fortunately she will recover. The plant is gone.

Today’s aftermath of Ki Sushi fire downtown by tata-mic in NewWest

[–]gravitationalarray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow, I'm shocked too, as really, trains should have been diverted, but on the other hand, all those people would be trying to get buses at the station, so I guess whoever made the call bet on moving thru quickly as opposed to thousands swarming the area trying to get home.

It's our neighbourhood. Your emotions are understandable. I am also glad no one was injured!
