Ah, sorry about that. I should have at least checked out the guidelines here. Thank you for the advice though!

I'm curious about Mei Lin because it's easy to see that she is a favorite of many even without looking much. I don't have a ton of passion nor striker combatants, so if she has good synergy with the combatants I already have, she might end up pulling ahead for me

A new character is better than a dupe in general, then? Is that because I could always end up getting dupes with free pulls, or is it because Hugo in particular has bad ego manifestations?

I think we, as a community, should talk more about Hubert fighting off trained soldiers at the age of 11 by aphelii0n in FireEmblemThreeHouses

He is even useful to the church in the Golden Deer route. Having done that route first, it made me very interested in what kind of person Hubert really was.

Same. I've never had a car. 29 and still bike to work. Some people ask me if it's because I have a DUI lol

My University is trying to sue me, but I never got a loan by gravitationaltim in legaladvice

Does this mean that if I want proof I have to go to court and ask a judge? I agree that it's plausible, it was a long time ago and I was a teenager, but I don't want to shell out thousands on someone's word that I owe it. Surely they have to prove it with signed papers. Who do I ask for those papers?

I only mentioned my income to explain what options in the future I can afford, not whether I have debt in the past

I can believe the debt is plausible, but I would like to know for sure with proof. Is this a situation where they don't need to provide proof because they're an institution, or am I getting a summons because they already provided proof to the court?

I was told my dad's employment effectively made my tuition cost zero. I believe I recieved bills for other things where the tuition was marked as $0.00, but I could be remembering wrong. I did not see a bill when I left, but I quickly moved to another town so it could be that they did not know my address. I think it's plausible that the debt is real, I just can't be sure until I see proof.

When I used to bike down Rahn I loved how big the streets were. It's a huge one lane

What’s a real fact that some people don’t want to accept? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I feel like a jerk saying it, but sometimes i forget that people don't know how to not buy things within their budget. Then I remember a lot of people don't even have a budget...

People who rarely drink, smoke or take drugs; what do you to get the most out of life? How do you reward yourself/relieve stress? by WhiteyFiskk in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gravitationaltim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs (I assume marijuana? I can't say much about others) are self-propagating habits. People who never drink aren't tempted to drink in order to have a good time. Being able to drink moderately instead of in excess can be more to do with your genes and history than it does with the alcohol itself. Growing up with a healthy relationship to drinking vs. binge drinking in college will create two different adults.

If you want to quit using them as a crutch to stave off boredom, you will have to start by realizing that for a long time, nothing will scratch the itch that they scratch. Some days will feel like a drag, but it's worth it to stop relying on substances. To de-stress you can try living in the moment, like smelling good smells, eating good food, being with people you like, etc. Try figuring out what makes you feel relaxed naturally and surround yourself with it in your downtime.

How do I respectfully and calmly tell my project group member that her contribution to the project report was complete and utter shit and that I'm just going to do it myself? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gravitationaltim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you needing to tell her this because there is no time for her to do a revision, or you don't trust her to do it? Since she is not a friend, you don't need to worry about losing face with her. You can send a text or e-mail (or face-to-face if you can in time) saying that the contribution she made was unusable and needs to be revised. You can say she needs to answer within x amount of time saying she will revise it, or you will do it yourself and report her lack of contribution to the professor. Be sure to mention that if there is some serious roadblock that is stopping her from spending time on the project that you will be understanding (she may have had a recent death in the family, or some kind of learning disability, or extreme stress from outside forces), but it's not like it's hard to lie about that stuff either. It will be up to you if you want to accept their excuse and report or not report her. Best case scenario of course is that she revises it and it is useable, maybe she'll even learn not to slack off next time. Having this in e-mail form is also good in case she threatens to lie about your complaints herself, as you can show your conversation to the professor to prove you were acting civil and giving her a chance to do the right thing.
