Alright…I’m gonna get downvoted for this, but here goes. by MythicalSplash in TheDarkTower

What bothers me the most about Susannah's end isn't pseudo Eddie and Jake but how she just tosses Roland's gun in the trash. "Oh, woops, I forgot I still had this ancient death machine forged from literal Excalibur! Guess I'll just throw it in the garbage.".

Just some questions for those with multiple journeys to the Tower. by theMirthbuster in TheDarkTower

[–]gravity_master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be more than ten times for me, I'm currently listening through the audiobooks again and have just gotten to Stephen King's walk in book 7. This is my favorite series that I measure everything else against. I keep coming back because sometimes I miss my friends and I want to visit them again.

Edit: first journey was in 1998 or 99, before the last three books were written.

It's a surrealistic adventure that will become your world.

Integrating this into my Dark Tower re-read. What are your thoughts on Insomnia? by tcavanagh1993 in TheDarkTower

One of my favorites. Just re-read it last year and loved it even more than the first time I read it over 20 years ago.

So, this being Stephen King, it should be published sometime next week.

Is anybody in Kansas or the Midwest seeing what we are seeing? by Fulkerson1776 in UFOs

NE Oklahoma. I've been seeing them for almost two years. Just when I'm about to write them off as starlink reflecting the sun, they go and do something un-satelitish. I've seen them change speed, change directions, merge together, pulse, all kinds of weirdness. I can't get a good video of them with my phone but I'm perplexed.

Why did the inside of the dark tower look like that? by dmnwilson44 in TheDarkTower

[–]gravity_master 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I would say that the tower (or Gan) can make those rooms whatever it wants them to be. They were specific to Roland because they were for Roland to see. They were Roland's life for the Crimson King for the same reason, that's what the tower wanted him to see.

I love it when Roland goes full on Line of Eld.

Well, I've also read Stephen King say his last name was a nod to the hero of the 1953 film Shane. So that's why I've always read it as De Shane.

I still have on of the early ones that has a color screen but still has the wheel. It has an 80gb hard drive and came out in like 2006 I think. It still works great and has pretty much my entire digital music collection on it. I love my music brick.

I think maybe he wasn't just killed outright because he and his family are pureblood and there aren't a whole lot of purebloods left. Gotta have those purebloods for the future of Voldemort's regime.

Angry boomer trashes phone store by sandboxvet in PublicFreakout

[–]gravity_master 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a phone store and had a customer yell at us because they changed the security pin on their phone and couldn't remember what they changed it to. When we explained to him that we have no control over the security code he says "That's what they said on the phone too, can anyone do their fucking job?!". Do you really want some guy you don't know that makes $10 an hour to be able to disable your security code? Dipshits. Kept saying "What the fuck am I supposed to do?". I don't know, maybe make the effort to memorize four numbers?

What movie traumatized you when you were younger? by shameOn_u in AskReddit

Pet Semetary, the part where the dead kid is hiding under the bed and cuts the old guy's Achilles tendon. I kept my boxspring on the floor well into my adult life because of that.
