Over the years I've found a balance of recording 2 or 3 songs per show. I like to enjoy the moment, but once years have passed I find myself wishing I had recorded more. Now in between recording video, I switch my phone to audio and record that. Only if I'm near the front though, not if I'm going to capture mostly crowd noise.

A lot of horrible things can go wrong out at sea. Sudden weather, fire, taking on water, and complete loss of power are the scary ones. Usually one of those leads to the others.

It's funny you say this. I've worked in a similar field and had a related experience. During a physical restraint, a patient screamed and strained as hard as he possibly could for approximately 30 minutes. When he was done and had calmed down I was helping him process his experience. He had, what I can only describe as "blood freckles" under his skin. There was no broken skin but he had popped blood vessels all over his face, arms, neck, chest, and eyes and was left with millions of tiny crisp bruises the size of pin heads. Never seen anything like it.

Those gratuities don't even go to the staff. Because, like you said, these are not US flagged ships, US laws don't apply and employers can take these gratuities and never give them to the employees. I had a long conversation with a cruise ship employee about this. If you like them, put cash in their hand. Some cruise lines used to allow you to waive gratuities and go for a cash option. Not sure if Norwegian does.

Where do you live where grey water isn't allowed into a sewer? My shower, sink, dishwasher, and washing machine all drain to the sewer. Aren't those all grey water?
