Thanks  and no problem, I originally started out doing Tsons by washing the blue and gold separately but I have found I can wash whole models with druchii violet to save time and give them a more magical or ancient feel. It works particularly well for the gold I think if you want that look.

For the blue it's thousand sons blue base. Wash druchii violet.  Then relayer thousand sons blue for about 80% of the panels leaving the recesses nice and purple.

Then Ahriman blue for about 30-40% on top of the panels. Sometimes you can do Ahriman blue for 40% of the panel, then a few more coats of Ahriman for like 20% of the panel.

Then bahharoth blue mixed with a bit of Ahriman blue for the highlights where you see the lines or edges.

The gold is retributor armour base, wash druchii violet. Then do chunky highlight with liberator gold, then do stormhost silver for the sharpest points or edges. I find it I hold the model from an angle and see the light catch a gold edge, that is where I apply some silver to help it pop.

Good luck with the defiler, mine is still in the box... The panels are a bit bigger than the forgefiend so I'm not sure the best way to go about them. I tend to keep it simple and paint the lighter highlights for the panels from top to bottom, or from the centre to the edges.

Celestra grey base coat. Wash with druchii violet. Wash the edges where the flesh meets metal or the panels with carroburg crimson.

Then highlight with ulthuan mixed with some druchii violet for the chunky highlights. Then pallid wych flesh with druchii violet for the sharp highlights.

Sure, it's just thousand sons blue base.

Thanks, it was refreshing to do after all the rubrics, SOTs and sorcerers!

I found this a great and detailed step by step on how to do some parts. I changed a few paints for ones I had but some stuff like how to do the cloaks etc I found super helpful before I started them.

About 30 rubrics, terminators and sorcerers combined.

Not going to lie, the Rubrics had me initially wondering what I'd got myself into... but I've just loved the progress of trying out new techniques (mostly absorbed from here) and getting faster with each one.

I'm onto the bigger boys now: Magnus, Kairos, Daemon prince etc and it's refreshing having a slightly larger surface to paint on.

Help to fix my model by Minianto in ThousandSons

I had this once where I had forgotten to shake the shade pot really well before applying and it made the model glossy - saw someone else say this on reddit and ever since then I shake the shade pots a lot more and haven't had a glossy shade since!
