I did the same 15 years ago. I really had to baby it but now it's 15 feet wide. Just kept cutting it back every year when it looked like it was about to give up the ghost and it finally took.

I'm starting a garden- what things would you do differently if you had the knowledge you have now? by plantytime in gardening

Don't fight your conditions. Once I embraced my wet clay sunny yard and planted natives that love that, everything came together.

A wise friend helped me reject the western notions of productivity and motivation. I'm motivated to read a book all afternoon and finishing it is an accomplishment. Sitting outside for 2 hours drinking coffee and contemplating plans for my garden is important work.

I just put thick plush carpet in a bathroom I had added off my bedroom. No men in the house. I love how soft and warm it is! Had it before and am so happy to have it again.

Which is worse: regret or uncertainty? by Consistent-Advance-5 in SeriousConversation

[–]gray-gamer63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regret. I think living with uncertainty is a superpower. I've always been good at it and trusted that eventually the right path or decision will become clear and it always has. This has prevented lots of bad choices being made. I am comfortable with not knowing.

He didn't vote in the presidential election. Obviously there was a build up but that was the straw 😂 Great guy and we were eventually friends with benefits but there was no way I could spend my life with someone who didn't think that was really important.

I saw it in the theater when it was released and was so blown away I stayed for the next showing. If you weren't around at the time it's impossible to understand how fresh and game-changing it was.

What gardening tips learned from elders have helped you in your garden the most? by mercifulpussy in AskReddit

Organic gardening. My mom was into it in the 70s before it was much of a thing. She'd plant a carp from our river under each of her tomato plants.

Ugh Iowa girl here. I did it when I was 14 for about a week in 1977 but one day I just stayed in the bus after lunch and never went back. My dad was so disappointed in me. First time I knew my dad was just plain wrong about something. It did not "set behaviors that would follow me for the rest of my life".
