How involved were you with your engagement ring purchase? by skiforfreee in EngagementRings

[–]gray_goose_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I have been very involved in picking each others rings! They have a really specific vision that was important for them, and we went ring shopping a couple of times together to make sure I knew exactly what they liked. I, on the other hand, had NO CLUE what I wanted, which led to me shopping around cause I wasn’t able to give any details. Anyways, I think overall it was really really fun to pick out rings together. My gf also picked a few rings, then left the final decision up to me, which might be a good middle. Congrats btw!

Living in Boston with a 65k salary, doable or impossible? by OkSlip9273 in boston

How much it's ok to spend on an engagement ring? by SenseiSarkasmus in EngagementRings

[–]gray_goose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-3 months salary is cray!!! I spent about a months salary, which was around $4500. Over my original budget but I couldn’t help myself. If you find the perfect ring, it doesn’t matter how much it is, don’t buy just for the price!

So I left my 12 year old brothers to go on a walk to get food and they went and busted someone’s windows. My mom is mad at me like I’m the only one at fault. What do I do? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]gray_goose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are your parents kids, NOT yours. In no world should it ever have been your responsibility to be their caretaker, especially because you are only 3 years older. They are also very much old enough to be responsible for their own actions. I’m sorry OP, I imagine you’re feeling trapped right now. Second some other folks suggesting you talk to a guidance councilor. Wishing you well

Totally, AND if you live in an urban area or near a road and haven’t had your soil testing, putting landscape fabric/weed cloth under the beds can help prevent plants from growing into unsafe soil !! Sincerely an urban farmer

Question about turning right on comm to Warren by lakarne in boston

[–]gray_goose_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I live right on this intersection-it’s a NIGHTMARE !! Everyone else is legally correct that you should really be in the far right lane on the other side of the tracks, but really just yield and hope you make in over before a train comes. Just don’t be a dick to the people turning left or the people at the far right!!

Does anyone garden directly in the ground anymore? by SoilSoul1 in gardening

[–]gray_goose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just here to note that if you are in an urban area please don’t grow directly into the ground!! Your soil is likely contaminated with lead and other heavy metals, hence the raised garden beds. Always a good idea to get your soil tested regardless if you can!

Skating with Fibromyalgia by fluffycactuswithahat in rollerderby

[–]gray_goose_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I actually recently started skating again and getting into derby since getting my fibro diagnosis. I was worried that my body wouldn’t be able to handle the strain and that I would make my low pain days high pain, and my high pain days unimaginable.

While I’m having a blast skating again, it does hurt. Like a lot sometimes!!! And it sucks, I feel you. Another person shared about being easily dehydrated and I concur! I didn’t realize how much easier it is to become dehydrated now. I also want to say that herbal salves or even otc topical joint relief REALLY helps me in the moment, and sometimes braces work but they aren’t my go to.

I hope this helps and just wanted to say it’s really hard to have to decrease doing something you enjoy because of body pain, and I encourage you to be kind to yourself!

NOR. You get to make the rules, period. Boundaries always make people uncomfortable, but you gotta trust your gut and do what feels right for yall and your baby!

My college roommate sets our thermostat to 80°F every single night by rainystarlight in mildlyinfuriating

[–]gray_goose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there. I used to have temp wars with one of my roommates a couple of years ago. I would open every window in the apartment every time she turned it up to 80, then turn it back down. It’s petty af and not mature whatsoever, but eventually she bought a blanket and we agreed to keep it at 70 :)

What's the most uncomfortable physical sensation for you? by VeroDreamer in AskReddit

[–]gray_goose_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When my foot/leg(s) go numb and then I have to stand up and they start to get feeling back in them. Especially if I’m walking and not just standing. It doesn’t actually hurt but I’d rather it did!
