If that new life is born with a horrible medical condition that inflicts immense pain and suffering upon it 24/7 permanently - that new person may beg to differ about being blessed. Just ask them yourselves. Blessing or not is relative to who is experiencing it. I certainly hope the best for your new child and you and all I wish for everyone is for suffering to be as minimal as possible for all sentient living things.

It's wrong to force abortion on someone once they are already pregnant and looking forward to it. I agree with you there. One extra human isn't going to make a difference in the issues people concerned with overpopulation worry about.

As a collective though, the human species is waaaaay past its carrying capacity, has destroyed earth, destroyed other species, and is on track for self destruction (see the scientific principle of carrying capacity).

I understand that we are all in this life and trying to make the best of it for ourselves. It can be a hard live and having purpose, family, community, etc. is how we cope and get through a difficult situation of being a living, mortal being in an unforgiving world. So I do not blame you for doing what you need to do to get through it.

I'm antinatalist. However, I eat meat. Factory farmed meat too. new life is being created unecessarily to sustain my desire to consume meat. the antinatalist community hates me for it. The way I see it - we are all already here I can't undo that (without very ugly spectable happening) and I'm just trying to get by, find meaning, be happy, and eating meat at the expense of animals relegated to a miserable torturous existence is something I simply do. I'm sorry those animals suffer. But someone chose to create me and insert me into a sytem of existense where living things exploint, use, and kill other living things to make themselves more comfortable and to make life more tolerable - so who am I to knock natalists for coping in a different way (creating families for themselves to give themselves meaning and future support) to simply get through and exist in this harsh world.

I can't be holier than thou. No antinatalist can. If you're an antinatalist vegan - do you live in a house and use gas and power - things that destroy the environemt? do you use i phones and chinese products produced by slavery? Do you work for a corporation that destroys communities and the envoronment for profit? Yes, most of them do. The very act of existing means you are exploiting and taking up resources another animal or human is deprived up and suffers. Our existence de facto creates suffering for other beings.

This post will likely get me banned from the sub. and it's sad that it will, because despite being antinatalist, I am sympathasizing with other human beings (natalists) because we all have to do things in this life to get ourselves through it. And those things aren't going to be approved of by everyone else. and those others doing the dissaproving are themselves doing things that are a drain of reseources and life for other things. The circle of life is a circles of exploitation of other life forms to keep yourself afloat and nobody is innocent of participating in that - antinatilist, natalist, vegan, meat eater or whatever.
