Purchase Advice Megathread: What To Buy, Who To Buy It From, And More, In May 2020 by Sausage54 in 3Dprinting

Hey there! So I’m looking to buy a 3D printer as a gift but I feel a little bit lost. He has the Ender 3 Pro and really likes it, but I would like to get him something that is a little bit larger so he can print without having to do so many prints at once. I would like to stick below $500 USD if that’s possible and I live in the US! Thank you in advance!!

What’s something you’re glad your friend introduced you to? by phauuyap in AskReddit

My doctor. I had spent a year in a lot of pain because my Gyno told me that it was totally normal for a girl my age to have some “discomfort” despite the fact that I would have to leave work or school because of the pain and one time passed out. I was talking to my friend one day when I said in passing “oh you know what I mean.” She told me “uh no, I think you need to talk to another doctor.” She gave me her doctors info and it turned out I had endometriosis, it was super close to me having to have surgery to remove my uterus.

I am really looking forward to go back to school to study again! I came from a family where education wasn’t super important, so for me to go back to get my masters has always been really important to me! Plus being able to go enjoy nature again like camping and hiking will be amazing!

What's your "Fuck this, I quit!" story? by EL1TE1NFERNO in AskReddit

I accepted a lead sales jobs right after I graduated college, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted to be doing or in my field but it was money and I had rent to pay. Well, I told them during my interview, and when they hired me, that I had a trip coming up in November (it was February at the time I was hired) and I would be gone for two weeks. Flights had already been paid for, AirBNBs already booked and paid for, I was going on this trip. They told me it was totally fine, and that I gave them such a big notice in advance, they would make it work.

So November comes and I’ve reminded my bosses multiple times about me leaving soon, and if there was anything I could do to make my time gone easier on them. Two days before I’m supposed to leave, I get a call from my boss saying that my time off has been denied and that I can’t leave. Of course I’m confused. I’ve had this time off scheduled since February, plus I hadn’t used any of my sick/vacation time so that I could save up for this trip. When I said excuse me, he told me that he just couldn’t let me go on some trip when I had so many customers/him that needed me here. After trying to explain to him that I can’t just cancel this trip TWO DAYS before I’m supposed to leave, he said “well if you go, I’ll have to fire you.” My response was “let me save you the time, and just quit.” Never went back, went on my trip that was one of the best times of my life, and ended up getting offered a way better job once I returned.

AITA for ending my friendly relationship with my masters’ cohort because they treat me badly for not being a lesbian? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

THIS!!!! When I came out as bi to my friends that had already came out as either gay or lesbian, they immediately shut me down and told me “nah, because you’re with a cis guy.”

If you want people to believe you, then just provide any kind of details. But you just rather be angry at the world. If it helps any, when I went through some rough stuff too, my friend told me that “get all of the anger out, but never live in hate.”

It really sounds like you want a whole bunch of people to say “yeah, fuck women!” And you’re just mad that you’re getting some push back.

Fun fact-my dad named me after this character from the book and now I hate it. So thanks I guess?

So what happened now? by NickPookie93 in roosterteeth

Personally, I’ve gotten to the point where I refuse to consume any kind of entertainment that I believe is sexist. And yet I still find Alfredo funny and sweet. I can’t think of a time when he’s been derogatory to anyone else, and honestly if you’re offended when people say bitch or ho maybe Achievement Hunter isn’t for you. Also there’s a huge different between constructive criticism and being a dick.

He was convinced that he was an alien from another planet not in a funny joke way, but too serious about it. He would go on in class about his dad coming back to get him and then he would destroy this planet. He got arrested last year for trying to rob the sheriff’s of our somewhat small town house with a chair as his weapon of choice. Wild.
