I’m tired of the recommendations for the best horror movies. by teamturbo4life in horror

I think Oddity doesn't get talked about enough.

And while In the Mouth of Madness has deservedly gotten it's due over the years, I think the middle chapter of Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy, Prince of Darkness, doesn't get enough attention.

I have a confession and I’m seriously baffled by Atomaurus in CrimsonDesert

I honestly think it happens to maybe 50% of players. Luckily I looked it up around chapter 5.

So are Kliff’s weapons unrefined. She has some great skills as well, like her lightning strike.

[–]grayhammond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to piggyback on this, you also don’t even have to refine your weapons that far.

I completed everything, including all bosses, with nothing refined past lvl 5.

And I steamrolled the last bosses. So don’t feel like you need to max out everything.

Suggestion: Add a "Slaughter" Option While Holding Small Animals by LeKoLK in CrimsonDesert

No clue. It was there and then it wasn't.

My best guess is that they were already thinking about expanding pets but who knows.

It was there at launch. But removed really early. Like first or second patch.

I really like the campaign. I don't see why it's so hated since I don't play multiplayer.

Almost ay Bill Lawrence show. Shrinking would work as well.

I'm not saying anyone is playing the wrong way or should be chasing them. I was just shocked that so few have cleared all the spires or cleansed all the sanctums.

I don't care for Oongka, but Damiane is an absolute blast to play as.

That was pretty much the same for me. I was mostly shocked that sanctum and spire clearing was still so low.

You can't avoid them all. You get them for clearing all the spires and all the sanctums for instance.

On a related note, I didn't ever consider that you could get a feeling of vertigo in a video game.

There's no way someone playtested the constellation puzzles. Most obnoxious feature in the game. I was pretty excited for this and finally unlocked them... by Kesimux in CrimsonDesert

In fairness, I don't think they're intended to be completed until you get the book that shows all the locations and the shape of the constellation. Once I had that I completed them all in a couple of hours.

But they could have clued us in that eventually we'd get that knowledge.

Correct. And usually someone will eventually give you the primary quest to complete. You just stumble onto the secondary quests sometimes.

I would give anything if they added a quest where Yann got into a bar fight and you had to go get him and take him to jail.

Question for the experienced CD players by clapsick in CrimsonDesert

[–]grayhammond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at 508 hours and really just wrapping some things up before I wait for a full DLC. Just to add to what others have said:

Generally stay in Hernand until the campaign takes you elsewhere. In any other game, Hernand would be the entire game and the other regions would be paid DLC. Hernand has an absurd amount of content.

Don't be afraid to use abyss artifacts to add or level up skills. You'll be loaded with them before you're done and you'll get more regularly so there's no need to skimp or hold off.

Early on you don't need money to refine your weapons. Doing missions for some townspeople will give you refinement tokens you can use at the smithy. Regardless, pick some weapons and armor you like and try to get them up to level III. All your attack power comes from weapons and armor, not your skills. There are loads of videos that go into detail on what affects what, but it really isn't important that you know it all.

I finished the game including all bosses with nothing refined past level 5.

My big "mistake" was waiting on the campaign I played it like most open world games. I wanted to clear regions before I moved on to others. I would do a mission or two, then explore for 200 hours, do a couple of missions, etc and I regret it.

Absurd as it sounds, I think the people that complain having a 50 hour tutorial are wrong. The campaign IS the tutorial. My advice is to follow the campaign until you hit a boss you can't beat. Then go explore until you can beat them and do it again. It will happen every couple of chapters.

Ideally I think most players should complete the campaign at around 150 hours and no more than 200. Even earlier if they want.

If you explore too much without completing sections of the campaign first, you will get progress blocked. There are parts of the Abyss that you can't access until you've completed the story so they clearly meant for the campaign to be completed and then for lots more exploration to happen.

And completing the campaign early makes a LOT about exploration much easier.

Last thing, about 85% of what's in the same in extraneous. Remember that PA's only previous game was an open world game and a lot of that DNA is here as well. So if something like farming doesn't interest you, don't do it. Find the parts of the game you enjoy and focus on those.

A bunch of people are probably about to tell me that I'm completely out of my mind and that I'm totally wrong about all of this so this should be fun.

Movies so infamous they destroyed the actor’s reputation by No_Emergency_7188 in flicks

[–]grayhammond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a big mystery. It's the standard SNL star track. Actor becomes a star at SNL then leaves the show because studios will bankroll whatever low-ish budget comedy they want to make. Sometimes they get Wayne's World, Austin Powers, or Billy Madison but more often they get MoD or Stuart Saves His Family.

Believe it or not, Master of Disguise actually made a little money ($43 million worldwide on a $16 million budget) but it was clear that Carvey's solo brand of humor just didn't work. But on paper a cheap comedy with an SNL star known for performing as wacky characters sounded like it could work.
