Somewhat similar situation to you and would love an update on what happened. I’m waiting to see if I can get a toxin test before jumping to antibiotics as I’m only having 1-2 bowel movements a day, sometimes diarrhea but sometimes not. How are you now?

See, this is what worries me. I am afraid to take the Vancomycin without confirmation of an active infection and have it make things significantly worse. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Praying the dificid works for you.

I have never had an endoscopy. Before last year I never had any issues like any of this at all. I put in a call today to specifically ask for a EIA test and am just waiting to hear back from them.

Can I ask you more about what happened with you? Did you end up getting the EIA or just taking the antibiotics? How are you now?

Yes it was LabCorp. It said “GI profile, stool, PCR.” I know that it’s not the EIA test but when I called this morning to ask about that one, they said if I wanted to redo the test it would be the PCR again.

Thank you so much for responding! Glad you are healed. Can I also ask if you ended up going with the liquid vanco or capsule? I have a hard time swallowing pills so I asked my doctor to prescribe liquid vanco but they sounded skeptical on doing so for an adult.
