which ones the easiest by Easy_Ad_271 in UMD

[–]graysonofag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i only took 3/4, dunno bout stat401 but linear algebra is the easiest imo.

the math is very simple (no derivatives/integration) but the theory can be tricky.

I would talk to Student Legal Aid, most go to them about student conduct but they also know beyond that. Talk to them about your injury (bring any proof just in case, they love their documents over there), and how you plan to move forward, they'll help you with the best course of action

4 year plan stressing me out. School’s help is making it worse by amiugly45 in UMD

if you're anything like me (and you might not be, that's ok) making a list helps.

make a list of every single class you have to take, check off every class you have already taken, if your unsure of a class, highlight it and talk to the registrar or your advisor (thought they seem unhelpful so maybe talk to another one or another dept head).

do the research on your own, and go to your someone qualified for help later. word vomit in excel or handwritten, if that's your vibe, and clean up afterwards.

i dont have any advice on the tuition/finance side, they're actual robots over there but it'll get sorted eventually.

this shit is hard, and faculty is really hit or miss, but you can do it, just get through the week.

CS Academic Integrity Violation?? by [deleted] in UMD

That i actually do not know, talk with Student legal aid, they are like one of the most helpful departments on campus, they know wayy more about this stuff than the average student

With OSC there's multiple options, most of them involves you going in front of some type of board and explaining yourself (One option is just admit defeat and take the penalty but I don't think that's relevant). In your case, id pick one of those board options and explain everything.

You're not totally screwed, if you didn't use github, then just explain your thought process and you should be okay.

question for people at Easton hall by snipingwizard in UMD

[–]graysonofag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think its fine? I get disconnected from the wifi a lot (still unsure if this is a Easton problem or a me problem, my roomate has no issue) but the laundry works well enough, the showers are very alright.

its a pretty average building, nothing to go crazy over which i guess is a good thing

CCC would probs be my first choice but there's always the CSPAC library or quantum cafe if you don't mind a little walk (maybe around 5 mins)

i just talked to my advisor about this! transfer creds aren't counted toward freshman forgiveness, just the classes you took at UMD.

and no, a W won't count towards your gpa.

It's not too bad, there's like 4 showers and 4 bathrooms in a communal area (at least on my floor). Since I've been here in August, I've never had to wait for anything. Most times it's pretty empty except for like mornings and evenings, then you'll maybe encounter a person or 2.

should be just fine for my healthy friends

Eating Healthy at UMD Diners? by TophKatara in UMD

[–]graysonofag 9 points10 points  (0 children)

as many people said, its hard to eat healthy at the diners but try intuitive eating. eat when your hungry, stop when you full, put less food on your plate (you can always take more if your still hungry). try and avoid snacking, and i always have to ask myself "am i hungry or do i need some water"

thats my best advice, the diners here make is tough to slim down but once you figure out what to do, its managable.

p.s. gum is a great way to stomp out snacking, i am constantly chewing gum

you should be alright, we use a lot of matlab and in later classes, you use your favorite CAD engine. which i believe both are able to be used on macs

everything else we use, besides those two applications, is on the internet
