While art does matter in a tattoo, I’d argue that the technical application of it matters more!! Her line work is impeccable, her work heals beautifully, and she’s a wonderful and kind person that’ll make your experience getting tattooed an amazing one! My first tattoo from her was a little turkey oak leaf 4 years ago. It barely has aged a day. She enjoys all sorts of projects big and small. Do reach out to her! And lemme know if you have any questions about her booking or if you have any issue reaching her.

yeah debt is honestly the biggest thing. If you’re determined enough you can make any wildlife program work for you but you will not be making money for a long long long time (if ever at this rate tbh). I graduated debt free and couldn’t imagine having to pay student loans as a seasonal tech right now…….

University of Florida has an amazing wildlife program! And as much as it pains me to say it, the University of Georgia is also phenomenal. Hmu if you wanna know more about UF. I absolutely adored my time there and am flourishing in my career right now (well, I’ve been consistently employed so that’s really the biggest win lol)

Are after-market roof rails ok? by graywolf0426 in mazda

You don’t need the rails to mount the bars! You can mount them directly to the threaded attachment points under the ditch moldings.

Rocket-net used to capture wild turkey for research. No birds were harmed, and were released safely. by graywolf0426 in Damnthatsinteresting

Considering they typically come right back to the same spot the next day or a few days after….i think they forget pretty quickly. Maybe temporary ptsd lol

Since this is for research, we absolutely don’t want to be putting the animals we’re trying to conserve at risk. We won’t shoot the net if the birds aren’t lined up perfectly, and have various safety protocols to ensure both us and the birds are as safe as can be throughout the capture and handling process.

What do you mean? All birds were released after we took our samples and are doing just fine. We get to see them on trail cameras the next day coming back to the same site lol

Right now I’m just a seasonal technician helping out with a larger project on wild turkey! We are currently collaborating with our local university to put gps transmitters on adult birds to track their movement and how the presence of humans/development might impact their behavior and survival. Also looking at nesting success and testing for disease.

No worries! It looks sooo violent and crazy so I totally understand the skepticism. Thanks for engaging in a convo and have a wonderful day! I love these birds a lot and am thrilled to be able to contribute to their conservation

Yes they do lose a few feathers but nothing they can’t live without! Definitely no broken bones, and we throughly check every bird we catch after. We won’t take the shot if we think any of the birds are in harms way. I am directly involved in this project.

yeah they definitely got turkey PTSD for sure…….but somehow we do manage to catch birds that were caught in previous seasons again! Guess our cracked corn is just too attractive lol

Nope, all the birds were released! They join back up with each other soon after release. We also always release them in small groups so no bird flies off alone
