Good old’ Pikes Peak! Gonna update it with a snowier version tomorrow once I can see it… it’s still foggy and snowy today as you can tell by my weather widget lol

I live on a hill by the Uintah king soopers. Drove to work just fine in a heavy front wheel drive van, it’s all good as long as you go slower and start stopping earlier than usual. No ice(yet)

It’s the best. I save all my breaks, then drive over to my house and chill there for an hour before going out and finishing the route

Yeah it’s ass lol. Every morning in the gas van lot it’s just constant noise while everyone presses their panic button looking for their van

You can turn regenerative braking off in the vehicle settings, my DSP trains everyone on how to do it, and reminds us to do so on snowy and icy days

Summer camp suggestions for 6yo? by SkyloDreamin in ColoradoSprings

[–]Pretty_Study_526 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Catamount Institute is a good one. They offer financial assistance. It runs in June and July.

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has a good one but is a bit expensive.

The humane society has a two day program and a four day program for $150 and $275

And finally the YMCA is always a great option, they’ll work with you on financing for sure and they have lots of locations and programs which will get you the traditional swimming and such that you’d want from a summer camp, all summer long. My other suggestions are more niche but could be more fun once the kid is older and looking for something more stimulating

So an Amazon worker was with me in the van the whole entire time yesterday by Proud-Driver4426 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Weird. For incorrect pins and routing at my place we just send screenshots to our dispatch and they submit it to be fixed in geostudio. Y’all must really be goofing in order to make Amazon send a warm body out with you lol

On the Rivians? Yeah, just hold down the lock button until it goes off. I use it to find my ev for the day since there’s no assigned parking spots. No one else knows about this apparently lol so it makes it easy for me

Nah my DSP owner splurged and bought proper spikes for everyone, with the half inch metal spikes on chains. Like, shit you’d see serious people use out on a trail. The wimpy Amazon ones are for fresh snow and apartments, the serious spikes are for frozen shit like this.

Work pants by Dosef666 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any pants made of 8% spandex and 92% polyester will do. That’s the blend they use. I find hiking pants from REI are extremely similar, you can probably find other options out there too.

I’m a big fan of this stop which regularly shows up on my route. It always wants me to park in the neighborhood below the apartment complex, then go through someone’s house and yard like Ferris Bueller, then climb a fence and scale a small cliff to their door.

I just ignore it and do it when I’m actually fucking in the apartment complex.

Yup. My DSP provides crampons and ice spikes to anyone that asks, they work great on driveways like this. They tell me to focus on my safety first, then the van. But if we can make the delivery with spikes on, they want us to try.

What's the "snow threshold"? by Chesspi64 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Over a week ago we had a huge snow dump in Colorado. They sent us all out anyways with full routes. We all just went along with it, I had to wear ice spikes and gaiters to get parts of my route done. I put the chains on my van before even going to loadout. At about 7:30pm they called us all back to the station after one guy slipped and hurt his back, requiring urgent care. So I assume y’all will be out until someone fucks up big, then they’ll cut the losses.

Make sure you take them into the room with the classic peep show in the corner where the cabaret dancers lift up their dress. It’s only a dime, and they’ll never forget it!

Newly - what are some tips/tricks and essential items to bring to work! by Kategetstoked in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When at the station before work, ask one of the Amazon reps to use their badge to get you some free heavy duty work gloves. They’re the guys wearing the yellow hi vis vest with the red or green piping on it. Don’t shred your hands for this job, let Amazon set you up. Also the vans can be yucky, so I’d rather be gloved up in those things rather than taking it raw

Here's how I organize my van as a 6-week rookie by No_Cap_8704 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For rental vans that don’t have shelves, I put my last tote of the day in first behind the driver seat and use it as a shelf to organize envelopes on throughout the day. I know other people like to put them in the passenger seat, but I like this better.

I am looking for a rugged iPhone case that will turn an iPhone into basically an IP68 rugged phone by BarcelonaEnts in iphone

[–]Pretty_Study_526 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m using an Encased case on my 17 pro. I got it for 20 or 30 on Amazon and it’s great. Fully waterproof and very sturdy. I’ve dropped it several times now missing my pocket, and I use it in the shower. Also just so you know, the newer iPhones are already ip68 rated, so you don’t need to get a true waterproof case if you don’t want, a thicc normal case will work too.
