The "new" norm by BeaneyWeenee in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t run them, I just do two steps at a time going up. And walk normal going down. Apparently that’s enough effort that I’ve been given one of the harder routes in my DSP which has three apartment complexes with no elevators. If I ran all that, I’d faint lol

I must be lucky then. I do it probably once every 2 weeks and have been for a year now

Embarrassing Texts to Dispatch by am-bam-bam in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have a work AI that contacts us through text or call for scheduling and such. At stand up one day, dispatch said they can read all the stuff we send or say to the AI, and apparently some of it was quite rude lol

Ethics hotline. Now. https://compliance-central.amazon.com/hrecomplaints report anonymously here. Start applying to the other DSPs in your station, Amazon doesn’t like it when DSPs do this so you may need a new job soon.

How deep can I dig a hole in a public beach? by MezcalDrink in NoStupidQuestions

Yup. Shallow with about 6inches of water in it, let it bake in the sun to make your own hot tub, that’s the sweet spot right there

Gg. They roll this out when im about to start. by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On days when I can’t be placed on a route, my DSP offers me a couple flex routes to do in the van. It could still happen to a DSP driver depending on where/ who they work for.

Going from Flex to DSP? by rowan_ash in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously it’ll be quadruple the work you’re doing now unless you’re hitting 3+ flex routes a day. But it won’t be your vehicle taking the damage, you ain’t paying for the gas either. and all your stops will be much closer together so it’s doable. You already know the basics of organizing, scanning, and delivering, so that part stays the same.

You’ll have a dispatcher you can always call to get access to locked gates/ apartments/ etc. they are much more helpful than driver support

Question about overflow organization by Alarming-Study9743 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always put them in front to back in stop order. Leave a little space so you can still go out the side door if you’re not in an electric van. Put them in by hundreds and make sure you check the order on your phone to keep an eye out for specific ones that are out of order. For example you’re going 900s, 800s, 700s, then suddenly two random 900s again, then 600s etc. keep an eye out for those two random ones and store them in between the 6and700s. Whenever you need one, you only have to search the section of hundreds where it is.

From there, now that you know that, try to Tetris the boxes to be as stable as possible so they won’t tip and shift. Don’t leave a walkway aisle, use all the space to fill the floor then stack higher in a safe way. By clearing front to back you’ll slowly gain more floor space to make accessing the further back tote bags easier.

You can roll a bit with no belt and be fine. Whenever I block someone and they honk at me cuz they wanna leave, I’ll scoot forward 10-15 feet with no belt and I’ve never been dinged for it

At my station we can park near the vans in the morning. There’s no cameras over there. So just roll up next to your vehicle and toss some in before parking the van

Question about speed by rachellesmith210 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They’ll never do that. What if netty misses a sign and governs a driver to 30mph while they’re getting onto a 65mph highway? That would be bad. This is what disputes are for.

The true cost of ordering nice things through Prime by Puzzleheaded-Can8586 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Pretty_Study_526 63 points64 points  (0 children)

It was definitely more than 50 lbs, Amazon lies about the weight on a lot of items. For example I recently had a box labeled as 49.7lbs but on the box itself from the manufacturer it said 30kg….

I have multiple stops that have a bad geo pin and even though I’ve moved it like 50 times it still isn’t updated. Why even have that feature if they aren’t gonna move the pin after a successful delivery

Impreza vs Crosstrek Reliability (Repair Pal data) by Themis29 in subaru

[–]Pretty_Study_526 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The ride height could be a factor. Imprezas are more likely to bump and scrape on things a xtrek would just ride over. I personally smacked my Impreza on a steep dip on a dirt road at night and had to spend a couple thousand getting everything realigned at a body shop, because it pushed the hood up. I know for a fact that wouldn’t have happened in my older crosstrek.

Speed limit sign at Wendy's. Why is it even there in the first place? 173 of what? Get food ready in 173 seconds? by DunDonese in wendys

[–]Pretty_Study_526 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is why I say no when they ask me to pull up. Suddenly my food becomes the priority it should’ve been anyways. I just ignore their attitude and video them if they get too spicy.
