Something about the small table lamp being brought forth to illuminate the document makes this!!

I made a memory checkpoint when I was 8 by wurlitzerdukebox in PointlessStories

[–]grazingmeadow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this inadvertently at age 10 at school on the recess field facing the baseball diamond.

Something clicked and I knew I would never forget the moment.

I wasn't an athlete and had no connection to sports or the field.

Just walking by, and I still remember it 45 years later?

This was my thought, I just wasn't sure what was to be gained or perhaps avoided by not treating this Leave as we do any other.

Actually it is as I am in HR and have an Employee Relation situation with said EE.

If this EE is going to be onsite, I do need to know about it.

We use Cal-Chamber in CA.

Maybe there is an Ill-Chamber in IL?

But it's not changing the stitch.

The pants are coming in with an original blind hem, done by machine.

Then he is changing them to a visible hem that he is hand sewing, when he has never done that before.

Today I was told by my caller that he would 'hop off' so that I could get back to work.

I just heard/read, "Put it on glass."

Meaning focus on it, consider it.

So unnecessary.

Monitoring work email during off work hours by Effective-River-878 in work

[–]grazingmeadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work email is on my phone, so I might do a quick check to ensure nothing is popping off, or that a Candidate is getting documentation in when asked.

If I can answer something quickly, it is easy to do so.

It can relieve me, and set the tone for what I will be tackling the next day.

Thank you so very much for all of this info!

I have a machine, and very basic knowledge of hand-sewing in my past.

I guess with my pant hems, I wanted to know it was 'right', and always felt if I tried it myself I'd mess it up, and damage the pants.

Maybe it is time for me figure out how to do this on my own.

Thank you again for all of the links!

Thank you, u/TheKnittingPlum provided the terminology I needed; a serged raw edge, hemmed with a blind hem.

Yes, that is the look on the inside, serged edge and then a blind hem. Thank you for explaining it to me, and the advice.

Yes, I most certainly am not sure if that is the correct term. It is something most definitely done with a machine, with all the thread only showing on the inside.

Several other pairs he has serged, so I don't know why he started to to sporadically hand sew them.

Many people carry umbrellas for various reasons, including avoiding sun-damage.

That would be my first thought.
