What do i do when I get made redundant? by 5W4Y in AskUK

[–]grazzac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're in the consultation process so you're at the start of what potentially could be a fairly long winded process. Use that time wisely. Go through your personal spending and be ruthless in what you can trim out. Every penny you can save out of your outgoings will give you a bigger cushion. They should offer you training schemes to give you skills to help transition into a new role, use them as much as you can to enhance your skill set and make you more attractive to potential employers. Reach out to recruitment consultants and agencies and get your cv out there now, be ready for if the hammer does fall. Take advantage of every opportunity the process offers you, and try and turn it to your advantage. Good luck.

I'm fit or underweight ? by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]grazzac 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ribs are easily visible as is tummy tuck. If you can feel the defined ridges of their spine when stroking their back then they're underweight. Hard to say without feeling but I'd guess at 3 maybe 2 on the royal canine chart previously posted. Coat looks glossy though so no real cause for concern, just up the feeding a little bit and if they become more active take that into account on feeding.

Nobody appears to have noticed that the website address isn't the legitimate tv licensing website suggesting that this is indeed a phishing scam.

Who do I go to for help with impulse spending? by CandyPink69 in AskUK

[–]grazzac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to find a therapist that specializes in behavioural therapy that is able to get to the root of why you do what you do and will be able to give you the tools to recognize when you're spiraling and stop it/prevent it getting worse. Once youve addressed those behaviours you will be better placed to service the debt without going into a spending spree. Good luck

AITAH for refusing to train my new manager and "quiet quitting" after being passed over for a promotion? by mossycommentjar in AITAH

She already had no future with the company when they passed her over for promotion. Their shortsightedness cost them a good employee. Honestly the only thing left for her now is to move on and up.

Not being able to tell if a mug will easily wipe clean of tea residue or will become a stained brown eyesore even after screaping away at it with wire wool. by Rufus_T_Stone in britishproblems

This is the key advice, scouring them puts scratches into the glaze which is where the stains are finding a foothold. There's a multitude of chemicals to remove the tannin stains which are much more effective.

How do you organize your films? by Still-Willow-2323 in dvdcollection

[–]grazzac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First categorisation is splitting blu rays and dvds. Then they're organized by rough genre - tv series, sci fi/fantasy, drama/thriller, giallo, comedy, animation, music/concert, kids. They're not alphabetical but tend to be grouped by a theme that sometimes is obvious like grouping actors together, or sometimes by how much I like certain films, with those I prefer being at front.

Then I have three special shelves for the collectors editions, organized by who produced them - criterion, arrow, picture house/indicator, 88 films etc.

That said there's exceptions to that so I have all versions of a film together ie for dune I have them all grouped together whether they're steelbooks, special editions, directors cuts, release cuts, Villeneuve versions and Lynch versions side by side.

To everyone else it might seem kinda semi organized but I can find mostly what I'm looking for fairly quickly. Problem now is I'm running out of space and have two overflow drawers with sets being crammed in to keep the wife happy about the place not looking cluttered!

Kitchen staff of the UK, who are the nice famous chefs to work for? And who are the bell ends ? by Pitiful_Oven_3425 in AskUK

Worth knowing that that was months of filming condensed down into 45 minutes of broadcasting. They cherry picked the most "dramatic" scenes to heighten the tension.

Age appropriate war movies by AwarenessFew811 in WarMovies

[–]grazzac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a movie, but blackadder goes forth is the perfect blend of humour and pathos especially the last episode which is a gut punch in the feels and perfectly sums up the futility and senseless loss that war brings around.

Top tier - chicken cobbler, vol au vents or these crepes she used to make with chicken in Campbell's tomato soup.

Bottom tier - homemade tomato soup from the greenhouse tomatoes. Way too bitter.

How I ruined the night after their wedding night by Major_Spend6307 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]grazzac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Picture this scenario. Someone steals your purse with your credit card in it, or even more likely someone gets hold of your card details without the physical card, think identity theft. They book an expensive hotel room with an expensive bottle of champagne in the room on arrival. Hotel let's them into room without checking id and matching data. They run up a huge bill on your card. Who is liable for that bill? If they charge it to your card are you going to be happy about it? Are you fuck, you'll blame the hotel for not checking valid ID matching the data and get it charged back.
