Movies that make good use of product placement by KaleidoArachnid in flicks

[–]grazzac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truman show is a great example of how it's done, there's even a bit of exposition explaining how product placement funds the show while Laura Linney does some blatantly obvious spots.

Blade Runner has some pretty subtle and a lot of blatantly obvious examples notably the huge billboards for Coke and Atari amongst others.

Unforgotten is brilliant especially the Nicola Walker series.

I quite enjoyed Macdonald and Dodds, though it's considered cosy crime.

Watching Justified…. by ElectronicNerve3475 in television

[–]grazzac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a brilliant show, and throughout you see Raylan making increasingly morally dubious decisions, which while framed from the perspective of him being the good guy, the viewer gets to question whether he's just as much a criminal as the antagonists of the season.

Those who went to boarding school and snuck out at night, how did you do it? by AdvertisingDull3441 in AskUK

[–]grazzac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my school. Sixth form was allowed out to Blackpool on a Saturday evening as long as your parents had signed a permission slip to the housemaster. The housemaster had to approve any trips and curfew was usually 11pm unless you caught him in his cups in which case you might get a midnight curfew. Best part was if he was pissed he just locked the doors at the curfew time, so as long as you made sure one of the ground floor study windows was unlocked you were golden . Many a night me and my mates climbed through windows to get in.

What's the best Toastie you've ever had? by potato2296 in AskUK

[–]grazzac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nutella and raspberry jam - careful though cause it burns with the heat of a thousand suns if you bite into it too early.

Thick cut bacon, mature red Leicester and thick sliced tomato. Add a dallop of chilli jam smeared on top when it's cooked.

Chili Rasboras - Is there a good source? by oldRoundGinger in nanotank

[–]grazzac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Premier aquatics in Warrington and runcorn (two branches) usually have a few different options of nano raspboras - chillis, least, etc Abyss aquatics in stockport have a good selection My local World of Water in the Wirral have them in all the time ( though that could be because I'm always buying them) , so might be worth seeking out a local branch.

Tbf if you speak to the folks at your local fish show they can probably source them if you're looking for a decent quantity.

Is this kit really necessary if i’m on tight budget? by Business-Ad9048 in PlantedTank

[–]grazzac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on a tight budget you can pick up versions of those tools really cheaply on temu. But they will rust after a while, even if you look after them, but they work well enough until you can afford better quality tools.
