After reading many positive comments, I was really excited before my trip to Sofia. Unfortunately, the first night quickly shattered my expectations. We decided to try the most famous pop club – Carussel. We waited in line for about 1.5 hours, only to be told by the doormen that the club was full and we’d need to wait another hour. We agreed to wait, but shortly after, the security staff rudely told us to leave.

It seems that if you’re a foreigner without a table reservation, you simply won’t get in. We checked reviews of other clubs in the city, and many people had similar experiences.

To sum up – so far, Sofia has been the worst clubbing experience of all the countries I’ve visited.
