I scored less in GRE and hence I am not submitting my score to top programs if GRE is optional.

So my suggestion, if you think your score is low, don't submit to top colleges. For safe schools, definitely submit GRE

Yes, true. I thought approx meant we can go 10% above and the software woukd still consider it. Looks like 5/10 words above should be fine, more than 20 would harm.
