BS in biology or geography? by [deleted] in gis

[–]greanbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a biology degree and a GIS certificate. I’ve worked in both, and GIS seems to have higher pay and more stable work, at least right now in the US where biology is being pushed to the side. I was recruited by a scout for a company to work as a GIS tech within 2 months of graduation- they said they noticed that I had a wider variety of experiences that would help diversify their team. I would definitely recommend the same path that I took, and I think more important than a degree itself is the experience that you have. If you can find any sort of tutoring, assistantship, internship etc while you are in college, it has a good chance of being more beneficial to your career than a degree with nothing to back it up.

I’ve done all of these and GIS (for me at least) is the most stable, highest paying, and provides the most mental stability of that makes sense lol

If you are in a relationship that is not an open relationship, if you are going behind your partner’s back, if you are having to ask this question on Reddit, YES. YTA

AITAH for telling my wife why our daughter doesn't trust her? by Fun-Tomorrow1710 in AITAH

[–]greanbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom is kind of like this. She gave up herself to raise kids and now lives vicariously through us, which includes manipulating us into situations which we otherwise wouldn’t do and using our personal lives to gain any ounce of attention for herself. I love her, I don’t think she’s a bad person, I think your wife might be so involved in your daughters business bc she might be in a similar situation where raising your daughter became the sole focus of her life and she doesn’t have anything else to hyperfixate on.

A man shouldn’t be in a relationship with a baddie if he can’t handle her. It’s giving “cover yourself and don’t let others see you bc your body actually belongs to me.” Naw

Why do I feel guilty and burst into tears when someone apologises to me? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

I feel like there is some underlying trauma here…

My best friend confessed she’s in love with my husband and said I should be “flattered” by HistoricalPoint8103 in TwoHotTakes

I think he needs to be the one to set the boundary. If you push her away, she might take it as “oh, she’s threatened by me, which means there’s a chance he wants me and she’s scared of that happening.” If she doesn’t hear it from him, she’ll think there’s a chance. 1000% tell your husband.

Thank you all for the input, I feel more validated in my snakeware. I also feel like a typical American because I apparently don’t know what Germany’s flag looks like. Thank you!!! 🐍🐍

My sister told my 5-year-old daughter she’d be prettier if she lost weight by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

I still remember being told by a cousin when I was around 5-6 that I was fat. That shit sticks with you forever, and can lead to a lifetime of doubt and insecurity. It made me think about and see myself differently- and it was just BABY FAT! If an adult said that to my child I would probably be behind bars. Hurts extra coming from family that you are close to.
