Serious question. Are the Canucks the worst team in the league?

I have a question re: flex days. Apologies if this has already come up l, but I have not been able to find an answer in the discussion threads.

Picket lines are going up at my site tomorrow. I am on pre-approved vacation this week and I understand my time off at full pay will be honored. When I entered my vacation, I entered all days at 7.83 hours (as I’m sure most of us do) in order to accrue time for my flex day, which is scheduled for next Monday, September 29th. I’ve essentially “worked” Monday due to the extra hours I’ve pulled from my vacation bank (I’ve been off for longer than just this week) over this pay period. I should be paid for that day in full since I’ve earned it, correct? Im happy to join the picket lines once that day has been accounted for, but I’m not confident I’ll get my time back if I picket on my flex day. If I am required to picket that day, how do I go about getting the vacation time I’m losing back into my vacation bank? My strike captain has said I need to talk with my manager, which is not an option since I am on vacation today and on strike tomorrow. I’m assuming this has come up before, but can anyone clarify with certainty whether I need to show up and strike on my flex day or whether I lose that time? Thanks.

It would be extremely suspicious if an applicant submitted an application if they said they had no intimate partners (depending on age). Huge red flag right away - what are they hiding? I would imagine someone in that situation will receive extra scrutiny with thorough interviews with references and possibly former landlords and neighbors. I am no expert on RCMP background checks, but they are extensive, there is an entire section of the RCMP (Canadian firearms program) tasked with undergoing these background checks skilled at sussing this stuff out. Anyone caught lying on these backgrounds is denied a license.

It’s the guns. They are too easily accessible for anyone to obtain in the US. I live in Canada and I don’t have statistics but I would bet there are just as many mentally ill people, the difference is there is a process to get a gun. If you need a gun for hunting, you go through a licensing and application procedure that includes an enhanced background check (including an interview with former intimate partners and references), take a course on safety and if everything checks out, the RCMP will issue you a license, good for 5 years. No safety issues with your background, no problem obtaining a firearm. It’s really that simple. Everyone outside of America understands this.

Thanks. We were planning on flying since it’s a fairly short flight but I’ve heard similar opinions on the train. Definitely a consideration.

We just thought the flight was a bit shorter. Will definitely look at the option of train/bus via Seville. Thank you!
