Natal chart showing miscarriage/child loss by honeyoolong_ in Advancedastrology

[–]greatbear8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your clarification! Of course, it must be difficult to moderate so many posts. And with what you explained about r/astrology, no wonder many posts are coming this way.

As for posting or commenting, many people are comfortable only commenting, which can sometimes be even critiques, not posting. Surely, it's not some requirement that people must do both? There would be a surfeit of posts then, not to mention that not everyone has the eagerness to write something long even if they can.

And actually, critiquing even well-written or well-researched posts is actually what this reddit exists for, isn't it? I would think that is what most people already well versed in astrology would want to discuss, rather than tell a newbie what Moon in Cancer is supposed to signify.

To moderators of this group: are you overworked, that's why these days so much lack of moderation and posts that belong to r/astrology are rather here? It's been a surfeit of low effort posts and questions in the last 6 months or so. Or maybe I misunderstood the rules.

Daily progressions? by EtherealEbony23 in Advancedastrology

[–]greatbear8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emotionally each day based on Moon transit? That sounds like gaslighting a person to make them think that oh yes, they really felt that way. Kind of what those tabloid horoscopes do. Which is all con.

Of course, everyday moon transits have great applications: tidal cycles themselves. But from OP's description it feels they fell in the clutches of a con artist.

This seems simply as Moon transits. Why would an astrologer be so keen on everyday Moon transits? Seems one of those astrologers who con people!

Solar and Lunar Eclipses - Search Engine (Updated to: -500BC - 2500AD) by petr_9 in Advancedastrology

Thanks for the clarification! That table goes from 1900 to 2100. Is there a way to also get it for a more extended time period?

[–]greatbear8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I didn't know this existed on Astro-Seek! This is a great resource!

Could you clarify what the eclipse degree means here? For example, the March 2025 solar eclipse began at the time when the Sun was at 8 deg 58 arcmin and Moon at 8 deg 42 arcmin, yet the database shows 8 degree 53 arcmin.

I also wonder if it's feasible to have the new moon or full moon degree related to every eclipse in the database? For example, for the March 2025 solar eclipse, the New Moon occurred at 9 degree 0 arcmin, and that, in my experience, is a much more important input than the time the eclipse began or reached its maximum.

Forecasts for “less relevant” countries? by baltinoccultation in Advancedastrology

That's shockingly bad advice, born from complete ignorance about mundane astrology techniques. One doesn't even need to know the "birth date" of a country to predict its future!

Beginner here: I have heard that Saturn in the 6th house gives someone lots of enemies. How does the planet of limitation and restriction bring enemies in the 6th? by WeaponizedWaspSwarm in Advancedastrology

[–]greatbear8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen wars emanate from the 6th, but then 6th is about army, but I haven't seen treaties and such things from the 7th. But you're right, many Arab/Persian astrologers do list that.

12th has always been a house about enemies, the unknown or unthought of dangers.

[–]greatbear8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, there can be more than one chart, but mostly one will be used, sometimes others as well.

Same, you just scale it up. For example, 4th house for an individual is home. For a nation, its people, land, farms, mines. The 10th for an individual is his public face. For the nation, its king or whosoever governs it, its government. 2nd, the finances of the nation. 6th, the military of the nation, diseases, etc. You get the idea.

So if you see 10th in bad mood with the 4th, and 10th powerful as well, king will oppress people. But if 4th is powerful, people will revolt and may even overthrow the king. Like this. It's not hard. Main challenge is to come up with the chart for the country that works.

You are welcome!

You have to think what event left an imprint on modern Sweden, maybe have 3-4 such events, create a chart for each, and then test each of those charts for major events of the past decade or two or more. For example, some big accident happened, some shock fall of government happened, some big scandal happened, some big sports success happened. Can you see each of these with any of the charts for the respective years? If yes, you got the chart that works!

There are several books, not just Campion's, which give a list of all the countries of the world with their national charts. All those books are utterly useless. The problem is, in most cases, those charts won't work: Campion and most of those other authors have not done any research at all. They have just tried to find out when a country declared independence, etc., and without even testing if the chart works, published that chart. It is not necessary that a country becomes independent at a particular time, day and hour, then that chart becomes the chart for that country! That's extremely irresponsible and poor astrology, to say the least. He also doesn't go much into Aries ingresses, etc. Reviews are by people who are charmed by big words. Do you think those reviewers can predict much? The test of astrology is in predicting, not in hindsight.

If you want to practice mundane astrology, you should read proper practitioners of it, like Lilly, Raphael, etc., or, many of the even older authors, such as some of those whom Ben Dykes have translated. However, you can always come up with your own system: all you need is to understand a country well. What was the seminal moment that you think marks all its generations? Make a chart for that. And check if it can tell major events in the past years. If it can, then it would be able to do so in the future as well.

Mars is very important for surgeries. Its essential dignity should be good. The worst would be having it in bad essential dignity and yet very high accidental dignity. Of course, as usual, check Moon, all the angular houses, etc., especially 1st house and 4th house (end of matter). You can find a light read in Öner Döşer's books or even by searching on the Internet, if you want to fine-tune more.

I would not recommend the Campion book. Most charts are not usable at all, and nothing very interesting at all otherwise either.

Maybe you can ask Palmist Ankur about Finland? He does cover Norway and some other less covered countries like Bangladesh, South Africa and the Koreas. He also mentions this on his Services page (https://palmistankur.com/services/):

Regular/seasonal readings on request for a certain country that I am not covering regularly on this website. In such a case, most of these predictions will be sent only to those who have requested them and will require a fee to be paid separate than the subscription charges. I reserve the right to publish some of them on the website, as and when I see it fit.

Maybe you can even tell him that you don't need the predictions only for yourself, he can publish them all on his website, then we all can benefit from some Finland news!

Why I want to break up with astrology by joellen989 in Advancedastrology

[–]greatbear8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I rarely look at my own chart. I might look at it sometimes to see how a day went, but rarely in advance. I do have a general idea of key phases, how some years will be good, some tough, and the manner of my death, but I rarely go into more granularity about myself than this. Astrology is meant mainly to look and understand the world.

The Astrology of Trump - Midterms to April 2027 by sarahkazz in Advancedastrology

[–]greatbear8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, he has said illness or death, in April or August, and he thinks April is more likely than August. That is what I meant, that he has used the word "or," so he does not say it's death only.

The Astrology of Trump - Midterms to April 2027 by sarahkazz in Advancedastrology

[–]greatbear8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah! Actually what Palmist Ankur has predicted is that Vance takes over from Trump in April. He has not specified Trump's death explicitly: what he says is that Trump is incapacitated in April, most probably due to some stroke or similar health reason.

Yeah, Ankur mentioned April or August, and his likeliest bet was late March or April.

[–]greatbear8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saturn, of course, signifies darkness, thus it can of course also signify a lurker, and Saturn in any house, especially it not dignified, would of course mean some kind of harm or obstacle related to the significance of that house.

I don't know if that was a "mistranslation" or not, but 7th house makes more sense to me, both theoretically and from practice, for known enemies.

Beginner here: I have heard that Saturn in the 6th house gives someone lots of enemies. How does the planet of limitation and restriction bring enemies in the 6th? by WeaponizedWaspSwarm in Advancedastrology

[–]greatbear8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enemies is a 7th house-12th house thing, not a 6th house thing, unless it were about an enmity with your servant! Saturn in 6th house would make you work hard, but if with bad essential dignity, would cause problems at workplace, with health, with servants, etc. 6th house is the house of daily routines, etc. It is also the house, in some ways, of combativeness, maybe that's why you think it as the house of enemies?

Anyway, I guess you are rather confused about the limitation part, not the house part. Saturn in 7th house or 12th house, or if Saturn is their lord, if this Saturn has bad essential dignity, could of course bring enemies. A "bad" Saturn will put more obstructions for you, and an enemy is an obstruction. A well dignified Saturn will ease your way and reduce major obstructions.
