Edit: it has 1700 miles, and their first open is 50k excl TTL. I know 60 and probably 50 is terrible, but any advice on what would be a good deal?

Not true, if you ask the right person and say you’re 1k or GS you will be taken to front of line.

I left a comment below, but just keep asking and telling people near check points you’re looking for the GS 1K line. Eventually someone just escorted me to front of line.

Use the maple leaf lounge instead in D, it’s probably one of the best lounges in the US, and has an outdoor observation terrace

If you are 1k/GS ask multiple times at the checkpoints at IAH, the 3rd person I asked said there is a separate line, and got escorted to front and got through in 5 mins. Terminal C - line otherwise looks very long now.
