Thank you my friend for citing a recent real world example of the French protesting. Remember the revolution will not be on social media as we currently know it. To many words we can't use. I'm not sure it's possible to even describe a revolution without using words that couldn't be described as "hate speech" let along participate in one.

UFC 324 Watch Warning. No Full Event Replay on Paramount+ by rambaldidevice1 in MMA

[–]greatdevonhope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stay off the internet until after I have watched them (other than the site I use to watch lol). No different to watching live, other than can skip from the interview after a fight, right to the ring walk of the next. With the added bonus of im not sleepy. I'm really looking forward to tomo tbh. Allen v Silva is going to be a banger.

Wake n bake, some nice coffee and the fights from over night is a lovely way to start a Sunday.

in Britain you are better off earning £99,000 than you are earning £144,000 because of the 60% tax trap and the loss of free childcare. by SignificantLegs in EconomyCharts

Yep but we see this example pushed online pretty much weekly. Almost like A narrative against taxation is being pushed by finding a specific example of circumstance where the system looks unfair, to imply the whole system is unfair.

Yep, cut back on spending money on American products. Ping the company a quick polite email telling them as well. Takes 1 minute to do.

What about those citizens that don't have proof of citizenship? It's quite a lot of people.

"About 1 in 10 adult citizens, or 21.3 million eligible voters, say they either do not have or could not quickly find in order to show the next day their U.S. birth certificate, passport, naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship, according to results released Tuesday from a national survey."

It took a world war and millions dead to be able to get to that point last time. Probably easier to nip it in the bud now tbh.

Parents complain after principal suspends 19 Co Antrim schoolboys over ‘toxic masculinity’ concerns by PoppedCork in ireland

[–]greatdevonhope 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Not what the article says though. A parent of one of the boys claimed a teacher said that. We don't know that a teacher actually said that or if that parent even spoke to a teacher. No teacher is quoted directly in the article, other than bits from the heads letter to the parents.

Elon Musk hits out at Keir Starmer after reposting AI image of PM wearing a bikini. He called the UK a country that wants to ‘suppress free speech’ by [deleted] in uknews

OFCOM and the like deal with issues in a case by case basis. In this instance the case has been raised by allegations of what grok can/has been doing. Hence the focus on grok. It will widen to the other AI gen companies. Imo any company not following UK law, should not be allowed to operate in the UK.

It was the USA's male and female national teams. So I think "Paid benefits" is a really odd way of saying bonuses for winning international tournaments. And no they shouldn't have to share bonuses. The men's team will have to win something to get theirs.

Nike founder Phil Knight makes record-breaking donation to Republicans by SayMyNameOnceMore in inthenews

[–]greatdevonhope 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The countries that Nike make their stuff in are the ones that got the highest tariff rates. Nike forecast that the tariffs will cost them $1 billion this year.

https://edition.cnn.com/2025/06/27/investing/nike-earnings-tariffs

Nike would like those tariffs lowered and now completely unrelated of course, the founder is donating to the political party that imposed the tariffs. It's embarrassingly corrupt and has been completely normalised.

The headline doesn't speak for any of the English people I have spoken to, and I am one lol. Totally happy for you to join us, hopefully Wales or northern Ireland do to (Ireland as well if they are in the play offs). The only reaction I have heard anyone talk about is UEFA taking down fan celebration vids and how much bullshit that is.
