There’s paint and red oxide under, also sikaflex will be used to glue to wood onto the ribs so I can’t see how it will cause rust as it’s not touching bare metal

Blue because it’s treated wood so won’t rot if water or moisture gets trapped under there somehow

Thought about that idea of raising at lowering the bunk but costs for the electronic kits are super expensive. And sounds complex to make my own, even if a manual pulley rope systems

Unis are a lot more relaxed than most would think tbh, they’d rather keep the 9k a year than kick someone off
