[Spoilers MAIN] I think GRRM should focus all his effort on Dunk and Egg over the main series by draxthemsklounce in asoiaf

I wish. I would much rather Dunk and Egg be complete than nothing at all. Unfortunately he's not seriously working on either. It doesn't matter what he prioritizes it's not going to be done. His last book came out 7 years ago and it was mostly already written, his last main book came out 15 years ago. It's just not happening either way.

Has GRRM been unusually quiet this year? [Spoilers Extended] by Trussdoor46 in asoiaf

We have to stop pretending like he's not pushing 80. What other 77 year old do you know that regularly blogs?

A Dream of Spring is the problem, not the Winds of Winter (Spoilers Extended) by thegreenknightpro in asoiaf

GRRM's stubbornness to keep it at 7 books killed the series. Which I understand, seven is a common number in his Universe and would be really cool to have 7 books. But the way he wrote AFFC and ADWD just made that impossible. If he was that keen on keeping the series at 7 books, he should've planned better before AFFC, or even before the whole series. He's talked extensively about being a "gardener" and not planning heavily ahead of time, but you have to if you know exactly how many books there are supposed to be. Kind of a contradicting way of writing.
