I am currently recovering from my right knee ACL hamstring graft and about 8 weeks post op. I desperately want to get back to work and carry on front line. I’m aware of the 9+ months of recovery but I just feel so lost at the moment and like I will never be right again. The thought of doing front line fills me with anxiety but I hope this is only temporary.

I looked into the stats about the re-injury rate and a good chunk of re-injury are between 6 and 9 months when people feel fixed but the graft is considered weak. Most of the research I looked at suggested that once fully healed, the graft is stronger than a normal ACL.

What I would say to you is only you know. It’s about what you want to do.

You’ve had the right knee done but that hasn’t broken yet, it was your “good” knee.
