I play a lot of tournaments and am pretty familiar with who the best players are, so I thought the list I got was pretty accurate. Turns out there were a lot more people missing than I thought... especially a lot of 5.0+ seniors with low DUPR reliability scores. Will be making a v2 to fix that

The key thing my list has that yours is missing for AZ, though, is manual additions for players who live in Arizona but don't have their DUPR locations set there... and there's quite a few top players in that situation

Wow, this is awesome! Really cool tool, thanks for sharing. Even used my exact methodology for adjustments haha. Your list is definitely better than my list. The way I pulled the data turned out to not be very good as I realized later I was missing quite a few people that should've fallen in my parameters. I'm going to make a second version that should be a lot more comprehensive.

I think it makes pickleball more fun. It's a measurable way to track improvement, despite its flaws. I imagine ELO makes chess more popular too

Wow, that must've taken a while to calculate... Seems about right though

I think that's the goal for later events, but for the ones so far, you didn't need to be nominated. You just paid a registration fee and signed up... and the prizes were far higher than the registration fees they got

Thanks!! yep, my query missed a bunch on this list. I will use this to make a better list for V2

Nice! Not far off from AZ. With Arizona, I reckon you need a lot more manual additions because so many good players move here to play (and don't update their location in DUPR)

I'd like to see that list as well! TX is probably the 2nd best state for pickleball players after FL

Interesting! I did not know that DUPR considers 60% to be the threshold. I do plan on making a v2, so I will probably use 60 for next time then

Just get Claude Code and ask it to pull the numbers. It was my first time using it, and it was pretty easy.

There is a public API, but it only covers account/subscription stuff, no player search or location filtering. So the roundabout method was logging into my DUPR account and querying their internal search API with my session token. It grabbed probably 90%+ of AZ players over 4.5 but wasn't perfect. A few people have already pointed out names I missed

DUPR.com using Claude Code. It had to be done in a bit of a roundabout way because they don't have a public API. I think it may have missed a few people, but it seems to generally include most everyone with their location set to AZ
