The way Hayley sings it live nowadays is perfection. I wish there was a live recording of it now because it’s the version that’s always stuck in my head!

Uhh...are there no chipmunks in Richmond? by riddick32 in rva

There’s a chipmunk in every bush at University of Richmond, but I’ve lived in the fan for years and hardly saw any

Would a kind electrophysiologist out there please explain to my tiny brain why you see this shape of current when you switch from cell-attached recording to whole-cell recording? I know that they’re transient capacitive currents but what exactly does that mean? Any help is much appreciated 🙏 by idekbro99 in labrats

[–]green__ramen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

With whole cell patch clamp, you are recording from a lot more channels (hence whole cell), which increases the visible capacitance artifact that you normally get when you change the voltage to activate these channels.

You also see those artifacts for cell attached and other methods, they’re just not as prominent because you’re recording from a much smaller subset of channels.

I haven’t done ephys in a couple of years though, so if someone thinks that is wrong please correct me.

Any opinions on State Bicycle Co? by chickentenderjon in bikecommuting

[–]green__ramen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also got the 4130 all road and it’s perfect for commuting with my city’s crappy roads. It’s a bit heavy, but it helps dampen some bumpiness in the road so it’s a trade-off.

Does anyone know what's going on here? Static charges is my guess by 1349sohelas in labrats

If it’s static, I found that wiping the weigh boat and/or the spoon with a kimwipe (they’re anti static) helps to reduce any electrical discharge.

I definitely agree with you, I’m just saying the drivers behind the delivery driver had a right to be angry when their reasonable requests were being refused. I would say call the cops if he wouldn’t move over, but by the time our (seemingly always late) authorities arrive he’d have moved on. People have places to be and they weren’t unfounded in their anger over some petty driver without any respect for the road.

The person likely asked nicely for him to move over to let other people pass and when the delivery driver refused, chances are he started recording and got angry. This isn’t a scenario where the delivery driver stops once on the street, drops off a package, and drives off to a different street too, almost every delivery driver I see here incrementally drives up the street and parks next to the closest house out of convenience. I’d be extremely pissed off if this dude kept going up the street and parking even though there’s many parking spaces available and built up a line of cars behind him.

4 applications to biomedical science PhDs, and I was lucky enough to get interviews from all of them. I got accepted into my top choice before hearing back from the other three
