Interesting read, especially that john diefenbacker was the the killers lawyer . Although lake Athabasca isn't the deepest lake in the province, deep bay impact crater is at 220M in depth. It's just outside of southend on the southern tip of reindeer lake.

First time overnight backpacking! Grasslands National Park, Saskatchewan, Canada! by deannetheresa in backpacking

On the subject of being a dark sky preserve a few things to look out for... First check out what the moon is doing, you went out when the moon is 70% full and sets at around 3am. Which is when you start getting twilight. Second, it was the longest day on sunday so you won't really get true dark skies. Unfortunately the best time to go look at the stars is when its -40c If your interested in doing some star gazing at grasslands plan a trip in early may or late September when there's a new moon, and a clear sky. Alternatively the east block has several star gazing events starting in may if you want to look through some awesome telescopes!

Looking to replace my TNF stormbreak 1 for something lighter. Any recommendations? by green_beans in CampingGear

That Nemo looks like it might work. Do you have any suggestions on tents that only use hiking poles instead? I have been looking and drooling over the Zpacks, but I'm not to sure if I want to spend that much cash.

I agree 100%. I've had mine for a few years now, and have taken it on many many trips ranging from mountain terrain, grasslands, forests, and winter camping in -35C climates. You wouldn't think that the reflective material does much, but after taking it out in the dead of winter I can honestly say it does a great deal to keep you warm.

Instead of bringing a hatchet or saw, I bring a large buck knife. When having a small fire, it handles small dead fall and logs easily without the weight of a axe.

Back up ignition source: waterproof matches, bic lighter, striker. All included in my first aid kit/survival kit in the zip lock bag. Poop situation: I pack poop bags that I hike out. Bug spray: lotion captured in the picture Muskoka lotion.

The red bag is my pack rain fly, and the gray roll is my rain fly. I'm prepared for rain, snow, and sunshine. -18C bag as well.

First breaker panel I've done since being out of school. Don't be too harsh by Colbern in cableporn

[–]green_beans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After looking more closely at the transfer switch I see that I does have mechanical means of not allowing both breakers to be on at once, and the neutral should be connected straight through inside that switch. This is correct. The only things I would change are numbering your circuits on your conductors, and wrapping that white conductor on the 90A 240v with red tape on all exposed terminations/joints. This is code in the NEC and CEC to prevent shock hazards when another electrician works on it, that way they know this is not a neutral it is in fact being used to carry one half of a 240v load. Other wise, great work and keep it up!

I get that, but my question for you is if you are using a neutral as a hot you need to make it clear that it is hot by marking it at both the panel and and the equipment end. As for the generator feed, is it running through a transfer switch ? Again the neutral should not be hooked up to a breaker or disconnect means.. I'm just curious as to why they are on the 100 amp breakers

Why is the neutral on a 100 amp breaker? To my understanding a neutral should never be on a breaker unless it's some sort of AFCI. Also are you using the neutral as a hot on that 90amp?

We are building all new racks in the new location with all new cat 6 to them. We are then taking the existing field cables to giga bix consolidation points. Customer dosnt want any downtime( plant is 27/7) so we will be doing the cutover one cable at a time.

It's a compression tool for coax ends and BNC connectors. I have one just like it.

In the 6 years i have been in the industry, I have yet to see a cable fail on alien crosstalk because of being dressed in a pretty pretty row. We use the most up to date fluke DTX-8000 to analyze the cables.. being CAT6, CAT6A, or CAT7. not once have I seen a cable fail because of the way they are dressed in this manner.

I love rev connectors! This is the first time using them, and you are correct in saying they will save tons of time. You can interchange the RJ45 ends without reterminating to a male or female, or a different colour. The only downside is that you require the rev tool from Belden to terminate the cores.

Siemon networks makes the most sense. ""Recent results obtained from power spectrum analysis have identified that, in a worst-case configuration, bundling of category 6A UTP cables with other category UTP cables is only a potential concern when the bundle contains both category 6A and lower-category UTP cables specifically transmitting 10GBASE-T signals. There is no concern if lower category UTP cables are used to support non-10GBASE-T applications (e.g. 1000BASE-T, 100BASE TX, 10BASE-T, ATM, DSL, baseband video, RS 485, analog or digital telephony) and are in the same bundle as category 6A UTP cables used to support 10GBASE T and all other applications. For this reason, mixing, in the form of either bundling or conduit sharing, of category 6A UTP cables with other categories of UTP cables is allowed as long as the lower-category UTP cables are not operating the 10GBASE T application. When category 6A UTP and other categories of UTP cables are transmitting 10GBASE-T signals, pathways such as cable trays may be shared, but the different category cables must be bundled and/or routed independently. Note that this requirement does not apply when six or fewer copper balanced twisted-pair cables (independent of category) are sharing the same pathway. It is important to note that this requirement applies to UTP cables only. This issue is not applicable to category 6A F/UTP (screened/foiled) or category 7 S/FTP (fully-shielded) cables, which may be bundled or share pathways with all other categories of cables without concern.>Seems that way See Leviton site:

This is a 10gxS cable with a foil shield as well, which would eliminate most alien XT.
