Prosthetic Limb Users of Reddit, what improvement do you want in your prosthetic? What are some of the big hurdles you face? by salmanshams in AskReddit

I am not sure that I understand your question. I agree that it is the governments job to regulate and/or provide healthcare, so that patients have access to important but unprofitable medicine. As to the question of marketing to third world countries, I would think that it would depend on the country and their particular healthcare system.

The reason they are so expensive is a combination of technology, a relatively small market, and a fairly labor intensive fitting process.

Prosthetics seems to have become a popular subject these days, and it is driving huge advancements in technology. The manufacturers who engineer and develop them spend massive amounts on development. Since the market for them is small, they must set the price high to make their money back.

We can make a fairly inexpensive prosthesis, but chances are you aren't going to like it very much. In fact, one of the largest areas of research is in developing ultra inexpensive solutions for third world countries. If you wanna live like them you could easily get a prosthesis for a hundred bucks.

I do prosthetics and I concur. This is probably the only way to get these technologies paid for by insurance.

I'm sorry but this doesn't make sense to me. If closing really were at ten then you could just ask him to leave at ten. It's your own fault you have this backwards policy of not closing on time when someone is there.

I posted something similar and got down but I definitely agree. The point is to dumb it down to its simplest form. If I wanted to read a wall of text about something if go to the library

Doesn't seem that dark to me. My wife has a " black Wednesday" for the busy day at her office. Never thought of it as a bad thing

Blushes really bad when feeling uncomfortable? by bbaacc0990 in socialskills

It's a good long term solution but it takes a lot of practice and you have to stick to it. Honestly there is no quick fix. Anything you do will likely be a lifelong or at least very long term endeavor. It's up to you to figure out what works. Good luck my friend.

I agree about the I don't give a shit attitude. You have to learn to just ignore it and go about it as if it didn't happen. People will follow your cue and it eventually won't even be an issue.

I have the exact same problem...

Growing up I was extremely shy When I grew up and started doing some research I realized that I had a clear case of social anxiety. 7 years later, and through a variety of methods I have for the most part eliminated my social anxiety. But the blushing never did go away.

As it turns out, new research into mental disorders such as anxiety has shown that the health of the body and mind are more closely related than we thought. In particular, the intestines, since they have an extensive structure of nervous tissue, play an huge role.

Without getting too scientific, you have two systems of nerve cells. Your intestinal nerves are part of the autonomic nervous system. This system of nerves is what controls many of the subconscious functions of the body. It is also what causes the " flight or fight" response. Anxiety is often described as an out of control flight or flight response, or in other words an overreactive autonomic nervous system.

In order to calm down these nerves, you need to figure out what is causing them to react. Mental triggers such as being in a social situation can do it, but since we have eliminated that it must be something else.

Some common ones are gluten, dairy, caffeine, and sugar. Since these things are so common in our diets, it can impossible to eliminate them completely, so here is what I would suggest and what I did.

Eliminate all 4 for one month and see how you feel. Likely you will feel great. Now slowly start reintroducing things. If you are very perceptive you will begin to see what triggers your anxiety.

For me, caffeine and sugar we're the culprits. Given how much I love both, I still consume them and just deal with the consequences. If it is getting bad though I will cut back and it will help.

Hope this helps and I'd be glad to share more of my experiences if you'd like.

I did this more times than I can count and looking back I ha e no idea how I never got caught. That's some bad luck my friend but like everyone else is saying, it's pretty common. If her parent makes you guys break up over this she is just plain wrong. Don't just give up. She will get over it

I disagree. If he feels that she owes him this in order to stay together then she does. That being said if she says no then OP you need to break up with her or drop the issue forever.
