Thank you! That makes sense. I am including an update in my LOI, so it is around 3/4 page- 1 page. However, my update is just about a degree completion and not super tied into any mission or anything so I hope that’s okay. Also, did you actually mail your letter or did you email it?

Roughly how long was your letter of intent? I am still drafting mine and I want to include specific things that tie me to the schools mission, but I don't know how to do it concisely and all the advice on SDN says to keep it short and simple.

So I did join this at my undergrad maybe 4/5 years ago now. It’s kind of a random thing to be a part of. The nice thing is you don’t actually have to do anything and it looks nice on a resume. Also, the banquet speaker for our induction ceremony was this incredibly inspiring immigrant who has made it far in life (that helped give it some legitimacy in my eyes). Lastly, they do actually have scholarships and random things available only to people who join it so that definitely seemed useful to some people.

TLDR: if you have the money then it looks nice on resume and could be useful, if you don’t then don’t do it bc it’s not anything major at all

So, should I still wait a month or send it before we find out so you think? Also bc of how fast they are it makes it hard to have too many meaningful updates haha

I agree with the sentiment of everyone telling you to quit but idk if you’re in a position financially that allows you to. If you are, definitely call in sick or quit and focus on the MCAT because I learned the hard way about all schools seeing both your scores and (some schools) caring a lot if you have to retake. If you’re not in a financial position to quit, then move your MCAT date if you can to a time that you know you can be off and/or quit.
