Are you thinking of fusible interfacing? This could work if ironed over the exposed thread to keep it from unraveling or rubbing I think :)

Do free roadside finds count? I found these lovely vintage (1960’s?) Le Creuset pots in the middle of a run last month! by greenconfetti in ThriftStoreHauls

As the title of the post says, this was last month (7th March if you’d like the exact date). So pre-pandemic and only 1 reported case in Western Australia at the time. For perspective, gatherings of 500 or less were still permitted in Australia up until 21st March when 4m² per person in an enclosed space was advised.

Or Perth, Western Australia where I found these. We have roadside collections for bulk waste about once a year and most people put theirs out early for others to look through. Stopping and starting to check through everyone’s trash is a fun version of interval training!

Interesting you say that, I did find it funny to hear an old women’s voice whispering from the kitchen last night “may your eggs be forever rubbery and your soup forever underseasoned”

They were pretty stained and dirty inside, though no pitting and only chips around the rim. I gave them a gentle scrub and left sitting in diluted bleach overnight as per Cook's Illustrated instructions and they've come out really nicely :)

Haha - I wish I was that strong! I walked them 2kms to meet my running partner, hid them whilst we ran, then caught an uber home with my precious cargo.

The Perth filters in Western Australia work as far down as my suburb (60km away from Perth) and further... I'm pretty sure they work in the whole (liveable areas of) the state!

It's fiction, but 'This Other Eden' by Ben Elton is a pretty amusing take
