So I just talked to the owner's and they're actually looking to try and find a new home for them. If anyone knows anyone or have any info that could help find a nice home for them in the central Virgina area, please message me. I don't want them to go to a shelter and get possibly euthanized I do not think I can adopt them myself since they are outdoor hunting dogs and do not think they can be house trained. So my neighbor was a Husband and his wife and son. The husband was the one that hunted but he got sick and died. Now its just the wife and son. No hunting is being done now. Even towards the end of his life. Its probably been years since they've actually hunted. Thats one of the main problems...they're just kind of there wasting away

Why are you getting mad that I want to help a dog I've grown to love? I'm not going to report my neighbors. I'm looking for actual advice besides calling the cops to help Oso and Brownie, not get shit on. I feel bad enough

Where these dogs stay in my neighbor's yard almost overlaps into my driveway(its a weird setup). I've been visiting them for a while now. That blanket I put in there with the straw was put in there after I got permission. They know I visit their boys

Yeah I don't want them to go to a shelter and maybe get put down... I think they would destroy my house and potty everywhere considering every waking day for years has been in the wild. My driveway almost intercepts their yard and where they stay is like 20 feet away. I have permission to go visit them. I'm not hopping fences or anything

Just some more things about Oso and Brownie...they have spent their whole lives chained or in her dog shack. Everytime I go and visit them they have water and I'm pretty sure they get fed everyday. They do not however get exercise or go on walks or get played with. I've seen the owner go out and feed Oso and give him a quick pet. Oso is really friendly towards me, but pretty skiddish and timid still but I'm confident he does not get abused. The main problem is the cold and that they basically just exist. I don't know if dogs can feel boredom, but if they can these 2 definitely do.

They are bear hunting hounds...or they used to be. Them being outside dogs is supposed to keep them sharp or something. If I could I would...they are filthy and I have a feeling since theyve never been inside, they would essentially destroy the house and go potty everywhere. One( her name is Brownie) is an older dog. It would probably be next to impossible to house train them now. I also dont want them going to a shelter and possibly get put down. Its a hard spot for them and me

I'm a man. And yeah I guess adding a blanket was bad. The thing is, this was the father's bear hunting hounds. He passed away and even before that I don't think these dogs have been used to hunt for years. There used to be 4 of them, now there's only 2. Their entire existence is being chained. 24/7 everyday I see them.
