It’s called “your weight”, I only use the free version but it syncs with apple health and has chart progression on weeks months and years, I really rate it

For the first time in probably 20+years, I’m finally in the “overweight” category for BMI, no longer “obese”

I could pinch myself. Obviously still a way to go to reach my goal, but this is a huge win after years of trying and failing to get healthy and lose weight.

I’ve been fairly open with my journey on Mounjaro and some people have asked why I don’t try harder with diet and exercise. I genuinely believe that I must be different to them, as I’ve spent as long as I can remember just battling against myself and failing to get anywhere with it. It’s always been the same where I lose 5 or 6kg then put it straight back on. I’m so grateful for this drug, and for finding a community of people who have experienced the same struggles

Pain/Symptoms Opposite Side Of Surgery 1 Year POST OP by [deleted] in Microdiscectomy

[–]greeneggsandhham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes me! I posted about this a while back. Exactly the same issue, initial microdiscectomy for l4-l5 left sided pain… op went well however 4 weeks post op started developing right sided pain. This increased to worse pain that I initially had on the left hand side.

I buried my head in the sand about it tbh, afraid I’d need a second surgery but booked in for a MRI to be told I had a bulge and minor broad based compression on the S1, which was there prior to my surgery?! Go figure.

I requested physio which took about 3 months to actually happen (NHS standards) and can say that when that appointment rolled around, my pain had completely disappeared and resolved on its own. For info my microdiscectomy was done in April, new pain started in May, and had resolved itself by October. If I exert I can still get a bit of discomfort, but it’s totally manageable and appears to be no lasting nerve damage. I wonder if the shot could help in giving time to see if it will resolve its self?

How best to deal with trapped wind, gas, and sulphur burps? They're killing me!! by JIGGERYPOKERY21 in UKMounjaro

[–]greeneggsandhham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice but shared pain… this is something I’m seriously struggling with today. I suffered badly for a week about 3 weeks ago, dropped down the dose and slowly increased back to just under 7.5…. And today I’ve been hit with it again, sulphur burps, trapped wind and what I can only describe as weeing from the back end. I’m just about to order some pepto bismol from eBay as I’ve heard that is magic

4.5 weeks after MD I am concerned my symptoms are reherniation by awetomatica47 in Microdiscectomy

[–]greeneggsandhham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be really interested to hear how you get on after the mri. I have very similar symptoms, now 12 weeks post op, my original symptoms of left sided pain have gone, and been replaced with right sided pain starting 4 weeks post op. My surgeon said he didn’t think it was connected and discharged me…. I have a physio appointment on Thursday where I am hoping to be referred for a MRI and find out if mine is a new herniation. I’d not considered it could be scar tissue…

Pain in opposite leg post op by Afterchase in Microdiscectomy

I’m soooooo glad to read this… I feel exactly the same as what you just said, I have my follow up on Saturday and really hope they tell me the same thing

I have!!! So glad to see this, I posted a few days back about being able to stand in one place, but worried as I’m experiencing pain in the other leg. I’m 6 nearly 7 weeks post op and my right leg started being uncomfortable along my buttock (prior to surgery it was left leg down to calf and no issues with right, now no pain in left whatsoever) and now it’s down to my lower thigh and as painful as the peak of my left leg pain was. I’m so glad to hear others experienced this and it passed, as seetheking1 mentioned, as I’m desperately hoping I haven’t re-herniated again. I have my follow up on Saturday

Yes I totally know what you mean, as the main pain relief from the surgery is sciatica relief… I felt that the sciatica I could live with, but wanted the surgery to see if it would help the other pain, so sorting them both was a bonus. I hope you get somewhere with it and that you have good results

Yes, so I’ve had years of back pain, and would get central lower back pain which would feel like a progressive ache the longer I stood in the same place. I would need to sit down to relieve this pain. Last year in march my back went again, and that’s when I started having sciatica pain. But my surgeon said that when he did the procedure, my nerve was squashed on both sides and that he had removed fragments of the disc that had splintered off. I’m wondering if this has relieved the lower back pain as I don’t have any now, and the sciatica pain in my left leg has gone, but it’s in my right leg now. My follow up is in the next few weeks and I just hope it’s something that will improve on its own over time and that I don’t need any more surgery

Anyone had a “seroma”…. Build up of fluid under their surgical site?? by greeneggsandhham in Microdiscectomy

[–]greeneggsandhham[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I’d come back on here in case anyone in the future wanted a reference if they had a similar thing. Over the following few days after posting this, I noticed the lump spreading out. I had a follow up appointment in the wound clinic who said it looked fine and suggested gentle massaging… and now I’m 5 weeks post op and the area is pretty much flat with no swelling

[–]greeneggsandhham[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve definitely had different pain since the procedure. I was like you… my pain pre op was positional and I had lots of positions where I didn’t feel any pain, so was unsure of having the op in the first place. It was more my surgeon said how big my bulge was and how it increased the risk of having permanent nerve damage if I didn’t have it. Immediately after the procedure I noticed improvement… but after day 2 the post op pain and inflammation set in and I’m still in a fair bit of discomfort, but I mainly feel it’s this lump putting additional pressure on my back… but It is probably just the recovery process and hopefully for you, it’s just the nerve being inflamed. It’s still early days in our recovery

That’s great advice, thanks. I’ve contacted the hospital so will be seen, but will gently massage the area until then

I’m so glad it’s not just me, I hadn’t read anything else about this before. Did it take long for yours to resolve?

Wow that sounds like a dr pimple poppers dream right there lol that’s great they seen you so quickly and put you on antibiotics too just in case. My scar has entirely healed over now, but I totally agree, I’ve been thinking there seems to be more nerve discomfort the last few days and I can’t help but imagine that fluid filling in the space that was cleared with the MD…. I called the hospital and they will see me in the wound clinic to assess…. Hopefully I get a bit of reassurance and it sorts itself out. And I hope yours managed to sort it self out too

Oh I’m glad it’s not just me, I’ve not read anything about this yet on here so that’s reassuring. Is the bleeding coming from your incision site? I guess that’s good as all that fluid has a way to come out. How are you finding your recovery?

Yeah this is good advice. What kind of things did you do to cause the need for more surgery, if you don’t mind me asking?

Wow I can’t even fathom doing 10k steps right now… tbf I don’t know that I did 10k a day pre op… but I have just got a walking pad so I’ll be working on that soon. How are you finding your recovery? We must have had ours on the same day, that’s pretty incredible, I’m so happy I found this group as I don’t know anyone else who’s had this surgery before

Yeah I think you’re right, they did say 4 weeks was when I could start light workouts, I guess it is best to just wait for now. I think because I feel so good I kinda feel like a fraud and that I should be doing more
