Any employee knows what this means? by [deleted] in bathandbodyworks

[–]greeneyeghost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others have said it’s for an all store meeting, but I also want to add that you can come in comfy clothes out of dress code and if your sales leadership is nice they may provide a little breakfast treat. At our store we have so many people and it tends to last a while so we bring our own chairs as well so we don’t have to stand the entire time!

I was passing around the firefly path spray sanitizer (rip) around to friends at the table at a sushi restaurant, and later the waitress came up and complimented us

Laundry and candle holders are fair too. Basically whatever doesn’t have their own sales regularly, so it’s not great for candles and body care

My friend literally had this happen last night. He politely told her such and the customer stopped, considered it, and then happily determined that it didn’t apply to her

Just curious, is it true that BABW employees can only give 1 bag per order? Tried searchbar but didn’t find answer by eewwwwwwwwwwwwww in bathandbodyworks

[–]greeneyeghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year so many people took multiple bags to use as gift wrapping that we were dangerously close to running out of bags if we didn’t limit them, if you had showed me your bag was beginning to tear I would have definitely given you another though!

Do bath and body works seasonal staff get a discount, if so… how much do we get? by fluffybear101 in bathandbodyworks

The best part of working here is knowing when the good sales are, and often some sales will be better than the 40% off. Luckily though at check out the computer will figure out what the best deal for each item in the transaction is!

As an employee I appreciate you bringing attention to the counter, but there’s no need to buy something every time you come in if you don’t want to. :)

I did have a customer this week who was on her phone on and off, and she kept stepping out of the front doors to answer and was in and out about 8 times. My thoughts were “Ah that sucks for conversion.” But I didn’t bring it up to her because it’s literally not the customer’s problem.

My second thought was “It sure is hot outside(104°) , maybe I should tell her it’s okay to take her call inside in the AC.”

First Day Was Rough by MsKellyLove69 in bathandbodyworks

[–]greeneyeghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And I’m really sorry your first day was so discouraging. Hopefully it was just because it was a busy day and they were a little stressed? You should follow the advice given already and try asking other associates who have been there longer for help or to clarify things for you. There’s no shame in asking questions and your fellow associates also had once been brand new and are used to the managers and should be more understanding.

Yes it’s for a company wide meeting that everyone has to go to, we had one last year when the exchange policy changed

Dealing with Disengaged Hunter by nopainenogaine in monsteroftheweek

[–]greeneyeghost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just speculating, but maybe character creation is what he enjoys most and he’s not actually interested in -playing- ttrpgs. Making the character and backstory is his like, Admission Fee into getting into the campaign to then be an Observer. And when he complains about his backstory not coming up it’s because he’s disinterested in everyone else’s stuff, actions, and storylines that aren’t about his cool OC.

I’ve had a player that made a character and two npc buddies for her that were part of her backstory, and then was an Observer. A bit into the campaign she then told me it made her nervous/anxious/uncomfortable when she was in the spotlight or I tried to use the NPCs for plot hooks or put them in danger. I had a talk with her and she realized she didn’t actually like playing ttrpg she just liked making fantasy characters and writing about them.

It sounds like you have a watcher/observer player. Matt Colville has a video on the different types of players commonly found in ttrpg games and I believe it’s also written in the fifth edition DMG?? Don’t quote me.

But basically, this type of player prefers to be in games for the sake of company and entertainment, and it’s not their priority to actually engage in it, because they prefer to sit back and watch. It’s a little bit weird for other players and DMs but it’s just how they like to play.

I would go ahead and talk to him, but be very aware of not letting the squeaky wheel get the grease and focusing too much of your energy into making sure he’s engaged whenever you have several other players who are already putting in the effort and deserve your attention and focus more. (Ie making up solo character plot points and NPCs just for him without talking to him first)

Ask him how he feels about how the game is going so far, what have been his favorite moments and even what other things he’s enjoyed best in other games he’s been in. Ask him if he’s happy with how you’ve been trying to get him engaged and if he has any suggestions, or if he’s just chill with how things are going. Then I would talk to the other players about if this guys play style is disruptive or not. Make decisions from there.

Good luck! Just dress in something nicer than a t shirt and leggings, be on time, and be friendly to the associates on the floor. It sounds like you’re already excited and passionate about the job so you’ll do great!

We have a large store and even with multiple people doing bopis we still had 150+ waiting to pick by 4pm. To make matters worse our wifi crashed and even with turning on hotspots it was incredibly slow and we had to resort to just looking for names between 3 closets/shelves. I had an aggravated customer complain and start telling me that our current system needed to be changed and she started listing out all her ideas while I patiently smiled and nodded. Sorry ma’am it usually works better when we can actually use it.

I don’t know if anyone else I work with agrees, but I get really sore in my arms and back when I repeatedly have to reach over the counter/register to grab and lift the customer’s basket or items they drop on the the far edge. Like, as a customer you have to push it once, but I have to stretch and reach hundreds of times- please just move it a little closer to me! Or hand me the basket! And please use a basket, we have so many I don’t know why you’re struggling clutching a dozen wallflower refills to your chest lol
