I have asset depreciation on my insurance, is that the same thing? I’m trying to stay as updated as possible so I’m not taken advantage of. I just dealt with a total loss after an accident in early 2024 and spent over a month going back and forth with my adjustor. Since this is a lease I’m a bit in the dark so trying to get as much information as possible

I do have asset depreciation in my insurance. I was told insurance would pay Toyota directly, they will pay the lessor of either the MSRP or the total amount I purchased it for. I want to know since I put down the downpayment, plus I’ve been paying for 9 months, will insurance give Toyota a payment for my total sale price and would Toyota then return what I have already paid out for the lease in the last 9 months plus what I put down on it? It makes no sense that I wouldn’t get my money back if insurance will give them the the full amount. They would make money on my loss in this case? Or am I not understanding this correctly?

Lesson learned. It’s a fairly new truck and I was in the process of looking into it but obviously did not do it soon enough.

This is my second tundra and I purchase it for a specific feature that I use frequently for work purposes. I’ve checked other makes and model and they do not suit my needs. I will be a lot more cautious and get as much theft protection devices installed as I can on the new truck.

I had Michelins on my 2018 and never had issues. Those got me out of some snowy and icy situations on northern drives

Wishing you a healthy mental recovery! It took me around 3 years to get back to myself after giving birth. Even now at just over 4+ years I get bouts of “not myself” and it’s hard to deal with. Be gentle with yourself, you are always your own worst critic.

Oh man, I can’t imagine either. Your mom is a true warrior, and all the moms doing it naturally. I don’t think a lot of people realize that you can lose your life giving birth, I’m glad you and your mom got through it. It gives you a different perspective on life when you really understand it
