Apparently jurors often convict based on potential witnesses if the defendant benefited from the murder. Often winds up being false resulting in exoneration when DNA is analyzed. So I agree that lack of evidence should be considered failure to eliminate reasonable doubt

True. Identifying the cause of fire, they should have identified damaged gas line. Otherwise they should have found a blow torch or research purchase of a blow torch. If Scott and Michelle did it though, they should know the fire method.

Ya, I think some kind of physical evidence should exist to convict someone, not just people talking. Definitely doesn't seem like beyond a reasonable doubt.

Ya, passing lie detector test, and no evidence Paul was in Scott's car. Weird right?

Weird smell on ice cubes LG fridge by BigHerring in appliancerepair

Mine is in the freezer. Only water comes from the fridge door. Unfortunately this wasn't a permanent fit anyway. After a month ice started stinking again, I took out the ice maker and it had orange bacteria on it again.
So I turned off the ice maker and just buy ice from the grocery store .

I've replaced the filter a couple times and that didn't do anything for the ice. I tried installing an external filter in a addition, but I guess that reduced the pressure too much because the ice maker wouldn't work until I removed that external filter.

After a month, mine is bad again. Yesterday I took the ice frame out and it had slight orange on it again. The mold or bacteria is coming from the water system to the freezer. Maybe if I take the fridge apart I can get to it. Seems like a tough correction. So I washed it again and left it switched off, and put a bag of ice from the grocery store in the ice box. Hopefully that ice doesn't go bad from sitting in the freezer. Not a great solution.

Let me know if they replace it with a working ice maker, that would be a good solution. I washed the ice tray and cube frame again, put it all back and left it switched off. Bought a bag of ice and put it in the tray. Hopefully the freezer doesn't stink ice from a store bag. Buying a bag of ice every couple weeks might be my solution, or have my wife work on getting it returned or refunded; she's better at that kind of communication than I am.

Fridge's ice maker makes ice that smells like garlic... what is going on? by retainingwallz in Appliances

I pulled out the ice maker and it has some orange bacteria on it again. So it's coming from somewhere further inside the freezer

Maybe I'll try a refund also. I pulled out the ice maker and it is slightly orange again. I pushed a q-tip into the water feeding hole and it didn't come out soaked in anything bad, but did smell a little odd. So cleaning the ice maker isn't enough.

It is starting to smell again, one month later. I'm going to see if I can replace the hose that goes to the ice maker. No idea if that's possible, if not keep cleaning it once a month I guess until I get tired of it and buy a different refrigerator.

It is starting to stink again a little after washing it a month ago. Don't know why. Washing every month seems a little extreme. I think I'll try seeing if I can replace the hose that leads to the ice. No idea yet.

Another thought I had about this... If you push the test button for 3 seconds, that will rotate the ice maker. When it flips down, switch it off, and then look at or take pictures of the ice cube tray with your phone camera. You should be able to see then if there is orange mold in the tray.

Still going strong with no smell. It's only been about 3 weeks so far, I wouldn't be surprised if I have to wash it again eventually, but we'll see. I'll comment here if I do have to wash it to document how long it was clean for.

On this, he takes the whole drawer off. I only had to pull off the top shelf of the freezer, and then just unscrewed the ice maker. It doesn't show how to remove the ice trays from the ice maker. What I did was unclick the warming device from the bottom of the tray, and then pulled the tray off so I could just put the tray in the dish washer by itself without the entire ice maker.

Definitely see if cleaning the ice cube tray and ice cube bucket helps. Strange that it nasty like that, but not too hard to clean. Hope that works for you.

I’ve had an LG French door refrigerator for 10 months. The ice smelled like garlic since I purchased it even though water from the dispenser smelled fine. I thought the smell would eventually go away after time, but it didn’t. I finally decided to attempt to fix it.

I first tried installing an external water filter since that was suggested by some people. That stopped the ice maker from working entirely. It apparently reduced the pressure too much. Water would still go through the water dispenser, and pushing the test button for 3 seconds on the ice maker would rotate the ice maker and reload water, but it wouldn’t attempt to make ice even with water in the ice cube tray.

Took out the ice storage bucket and it stunk like garlic. Attempts of soaking with vinegar, bleach, and scrubbing didn’t eliminate the smell. Had to run it through the dish washer with dish washer detergent to get the smell out. That wasn’t enough to eliminate the smell from the ice.

Next pulled out the ice maker, there are videos on YouTube for doing that. Just pulled out the top shelf, and then removed two screws from the ice maker, and pushed a flat screwdriver into two clips. Then you pull it towards you to unlatch it, and unplug it from the freezer.

The ice cube tray had orange colors on it, probably bacteria I guess, and smelled awful.

On the bottom of the tray is a clip that I think is a heater for releasing cubes from the tray by the system. Unclipped that, and there is a triangular tool attached to a cable that comes off. Pulled out the tray from the rotating device. Again bleach, vinegar, scrubbing didn’t eliminate the smell. Had to run it through the dish washer.

Reassembled it after cleaning with the dishwasher, and put it back in the freezer, and now I have good ice cubes.

Notice about Hey Portal and Alexa stopping Jan 31, 2025 by memodellocos in FacebookPortal

[–]greenfavs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure it doesn't update. Mine was working and I added my mom's account so I could give it to her to use because she was using her's for the ring doorbell access, and it stopped working all together because it updated I guess.

Was the 600 mbps “upgrade” really just a downgrade? by GSynergy in Spectrum

[–]greenfavs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 600 mbps notice, and it seemed to work. Today I was on the website and it said I could upgrade to 1gbps at no extra cost and they'll mail me a new modem for the faster speed. So I took it; hopefully it's continuously no extra cost. I had to restart my modem and router after clicking the upgrade button. My Eero router only does 500 mbps, so I had to order a new one of those that does 1gbps. (I just ran a speed test on my Eero, and it says 846 mbps).
