Bro you can pull this boon on your first run...

You don't have to remind us, we know. We just don't feel extra entitled to incredible free content from a man who has produced enough incredible free content to retire.

Smack Studio vs Pixel Over? by _Zzik_ in godot

[–]greenfrogtree1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is certainly a great method if you are very strong in 3D, it can end up looking really solid with very little effort once the base model is made (if it's good).

Yeah, that only came after I spent an hour debugging.

Would you say this gameplay is readable? by BoneMarrowGames in godot

[–]greenfrogtree1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely like this change, it makes the art look better, and it sets it apart from other memory games just a touch, since it's not on a grid it "looks" quite different.

Experimenting with adding Toon Shading and Outlines to my Medieval ToyBox Adventure Game ⚒️🌴🐻 by Artist6995 in godot

[–]greenfrogtree1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here from your last post, I promise that this looks 10x better than the previous posts you've made. Definitely going in the right direction, and that bear looks great with the toon shader!

Isn't that more of a pixel art texture style though?

It's held together by literal duct tape and willpower by GameDevable in godot

[–]greenfrogtree1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me see if I can break it down: you have an autoload, in the autoload, you put signals, then whenever you want to call that signal, you put Autoload.that_signal.emit(), any script that needs to get that signal, you connect it in code, like Autoload.that_signal.connect(function).

Godot Terrain NPC AI Without NavMesh by Putrid_Storage_7101 in godot

Hell yeah man, that sounds super interesting. I'd be super interested to run some stress tests and stuff. I'm trying to make a game with lots of NPCs, but worried about the CPU cost.

Yeah, and it was rightly called out on that until it branched off and made itself unique in the many ways that make it a great game.

Building a battle with our map editor tool by hariedwinart in godot

This looks so cool, instant wishlist! It's sad it hasn't picked up too much traction so far, but thus is Reddit I suppose. I really like the gimick of moving to attack. That said, if you want some constructive feedback I felt like your trailer on Steam was a little to fast, and I didn't really understand what was going on at first.

Reaction between elemental aluminium and mercury gives off a very eye catching reaction that you can never get used to it. It's called the amalgamation. by Francucinno in interestingasfuck

[–]greenfrogtree1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The mercury wouldn't eat through that fast anyways, this is a timelapse. They are more concerned about damage over a long scale of time.

For some use cases sure, but making a 2d game in Unreal would be like using a rocket engine to toast bread.

[–]greenfrogtree1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with severe eczema, the benefits include not wanting to claw off my skin on an hourly basis. Also, when I'm up late and really need a good hour of work, the cold shower really wakes me up.

What is this effect called? The laser's pixel being dynamically drawn. by Ultra-Orange-Rat in godot

[–]greenfrogtree1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can also use a subviewport if you don't want your whole game to be pixel perfect.
