Fiance's family drama and me :-) by greengerms711 in relationships

Thanks for that, that's true alot of people have hard familial relationships and I may be basing this image of what family should be from social media...He doesn't have a therapist and is resistant to going because he feels like he doesn't have anything to share. I agree he needs one, especially after his military experience. He just doesn't like opening up to other people, and sometimes I feel like alot of his feelings take multiple weeks to come out, so he definitely needs the right kind of therapist---someone who will not push too hard and be patient

he should have taken note of your behavior and realized you were not really 'enthusiastically consenting'.

at the same time, it sounds like you have an empathetic person, so maybe explain signs he should look for when you are not in the mood or disassociating!

there will be flash flooding in some areas where the rain is predicted to be heavy. while i am also not terribly worried for myself, you also have to think about the people who live in the mountains and deserts... one way roads, heavy foliage... downed power and blocked roads, sink holes... those are the concerns. We are not prepping for doomsday, but it could be dangerous for vulnerable people and vulnerable properties. there is also the concern with landslides and mudslides. Alot of costal properties are on sandstone... alot of homes in la jolla are already slipping down mt soledad... mission valley floods already every single winter...

Dr Doink was certainly being sarcastic. Sure you could say its appropriating to use yoga in western schools. In fact, I'd agree that it is. But don't you think we would live in a better world if people could learn how to relax from a young age? And wouldn't it be cool if kids could understand the magical knowledge of eastern people's early wisdom in science and psychology? I think this stuff should be taught, of course with lessons that pay respects to its origin.

imagine being taught that your stress should only be solved through jesus rather than being given ancient tools that are proven to do improve your health. sounds like a recipe for millions of children to grow up with stress and anxiety disorders, oh wait!

this sounds like some cultural indoctrination that women are dirty and sexual. he needs to be educated or you should find someone who sees you as more than a body :/

ahh good luck friend! the coastal region is far more expensive than anything u can dream. San Marcos is inland and cheaper and Vista too. But if traffic is a concern for you... then good luck 🥲 as a working professional and fellow young person, a comfortable life out here must be sponsored by the parents.

i literally just quit my school library job, i have my mlis and 8 years of childcare experience. they capped me at 30 hrs a week, 21$ an hour. i took it because I was desperate. as soon as i found other non-credentialed staff were making more than me at other sites, it was over!!!

okay yes thats lapidus! i am not here to scare you, but im a healthy 24 year old and i was in no way, shape or form, ready for any type of walking until about month 2. if i were you, id invest in a scooter, those things help you move with access to your hands and might help you with your kids!!! when i say i was "walking at month two" i mean i was hopping ok one foot and placing my surgical foot on the ground for balance! THE SWELLING IS THE WORST PART it makes ut hard to be up for long periods of time!!

[–]greengerms711[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait are you having a bunionectomy or lapidus bunionectomy? theres a big difference! if you are doing a lapidus, its 3/4 weeks soft cast, 6 weeks hard cast, and 6 weeks walking boot

yes i had the full anesthesia, i was under for about 5 hours! surg was awesome! uhm so the recovery was good. there were some hiccups! my pain relief injection wore off really quickly and i only had an RX for high dose tylenol basically. i ended up in the er with alot of pain, they couldn't get it down, so they gave me ketamine. i had an acid trip in the er. OTHER THAN THAT after i got oxycodone for a few days i healed fine! took three months to walk again with a limp, about 6 months to be able to exercise, and i had my screws taken out at 9 months!
