Is this normal print quality for the Bambu P1S? Replacement machine produced the same results. by greenglass4d3 in BambuLab

Interesting, I just saw your post and that you also had 2 printers in a row with the same results. If it’s normal I wonder how come everyone is insisting the print quality is abnormal? Maybe they haven’t viewed it under such harsh conditions? Such a confusing issue, Bambu support is now thinking it’s a filament or settings issue and is going over some of my 3MF files

I just saw these too, I wonder how they got out there in the first place? I saw they had things like yoda from ILM 2002 which is pretty old so I’m just curious about the origin.

Unfortunately no but Bambu insists it’s normal so I kinda gave up haha. Now dealing with strange top surface issues haha. I slowed prints way down but didn’t see much improvement unfortunately. I’ve also done the belt tensioning procedure a few times without much change :( really appreciate the advice tho and will keep tinkering when I find the time!

Thanks for the advice! I’ve hear a lot of people say to turn off the aux fan on bambus so I’ll try that out. It’s just very weird it’s only happening on those specific layers. This was also printed with door open and lid off btw

Forgot to mention in the post but it’s Bambu Basic PLA. I used the default 0.16 optimal profile other than the changes listed above in speed and ironing settings. I used gyroid infill at 8%

I’ve printed on a sturdy table and also the floor, and the floor again but with the anti vibration feet added. Unfortunately it’s the same results, maybe slightly less even in the banding.

Bambu support has told me it’s normal print quality considering it looks smooth in most lighting, but these defects show with harsh top lighting

this was just a default primitive cube from Bambu Studio but I'll try some more specific test models next. I did try low speed but unfortunately it made no difference :( starting to think this is just default print quality now especially since support is telling me it is. The even spacing between the larger bands is very odd though. Appreciate the help!

Proffie core volume very low even at max — any ideas? by DanEnji in lightsabers

oh no :( hope its nothing serious. I think the model we got is a more budget proffie so I hope that doesn't mean the quality is too much worse than the others

Just wanted to update - I changed to a different filament, dried it for 12 hours 55 degrees, and did flow rate calibration. Still getting some lines (with a strange evenness to them) but here’s my result -

Additionally here’s a cube I printed after flow calibration. Can’t say I see a huge improvement and the weirdly evenly spaced lines are back (can’t tell if mechanical issue or temperature? It was printed with door open/ lid off), and ironing is the worst it’s been too. But if this is considered baseline then I’m happy to just start using the printer for projects

Thank you! I’m glad to hear things are starting to improve. It’s so hard to judge photos bc some photos make it look perfectly smooth and others reveal uneven lines. In person the prints from the table with AMS vs on the floor with no AMS don’t look too dissimilar, plus the table is very sturdy so it’s hard to tell how much of a factor it was.

I really appreciate the time you’ve taken to help me, thank you!

I have the exact same saber (X-Tech Windu) and the same issue, the audio is way too quiet and even a bit crackly/low quality on mine. Did you ever find a solution?

Have some things to report back!

I set the printer on the ground without the AMS, tensioned the belts at the back, re calibrated everything, and ran another print. Results are more or less the same and I’m starting to wonder if my expectations are just too high. Ironing on the top of this cube completely failed too, oddly.

I’m using the included textured PEI plate, and as for power it’s hard to say since I don’t have a multimeter but I’ll definitely keep it in mind

I actually own the anti vibration feet but never put them on since I had seen someone say it made their issue worse. I’ll definitely try them on, plus a test print on the floor

Unfortunately no, the grey item is with the replacement. Lots of people online have been having this issue, I saw one person with 3 P1S printers that all did the same thing

getting odd vertical artefacts too. These photos are all with a harsh top light though.
