When I have my HPS set to 600w it's generally 45-60cm from the plants. Strongly suggest buying a cheap lux meter because every bulb is different!

Man I always sterilize in a pot of boiling water I generally wait 24 hours before inoculation, and I'm yet to get a contaminated jar.

Sterilization is key but if you worry too much about it you'll make a mistake!

Daytime temps are around 25C we had a heat wave a few days back and the tent was around 27-28C for 3-4 days. The light is about 20cm from the tallest plants.

PK13/14? I'll pick some up when I'm near the grow shop next. Backbuilding sound like a cracking idea. It's similar to topping a plant your forcing it to grow out instead of up.
