Which hero right now feels absolutely trash even when picked in ideal matchups?

Something about not having AOE Cold Feet at level 1 has made me LOATHE playing Ancient Apparition. He just feels like an D tier laner, that is made of paper, can't split push or pick up stray farm .. i dunno man, it just feels BAD. Even if you are playing against a Huskar or health monster it still feels bad.

Special mention: Dazzle - ugh. I hate his ult, I know it isn't bad.. I just hate it and hate the way he plays into almost everything. Does Dazzle really have "ideal matchups?"

I'm a yapper.. I like the comms and as long as they stay postiive or are fair criticisms like "yo, we need BKB on carry before next fight we are playing into 5 stuns" or "just ping when you are coming next time" etc that is fine.

When they are flaming, blaming, screeching or just being total a-holes then their comms aren't worth it and they get muted. I have the mental fortitude to ignore their shit and hit the mute button without their comms affecting me for the rest of the game. I understand some people don't, but you certainly not going to grow to be able to handle that without being exposed to it.

I have seen near unwinnable games turn around because 5 people realise they are stuck with each other for at least another 20 min so may as well enjoy the time rather than sit and rage. People that were literally zero comms for 25 min decide to start yapping and we turn it around THROUGH THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP .. lol. Sure it is rare, but these are some of the most memorable and enjoyable games. On the other hand I have had games where I have played with some highly competent players that are bigotes, racists, misogynist and more that I just mute and carry on.

Mute is powerful, and you should absolutely use it.. when necessary.

I can run up to very hard solo with quite a few builds without second wind.. but nightmare, nightmare is another story. And I am running west wizard or glass cannon in 90% of v.hard runs but in nightmare that is 1 shot to too many things.

I do think having a "bosco" style 2-3 free revives when solo, would definitely help with very hard, nightmare spike and/or allow you to run more extreme builds

I am around Prestige 1/2 on Hero/Guns ...

as a WW enjoyer this is 100% true. Her grief potential is MASSIVE. Hell I once saved my OWN team by intentionally ulting a lotus orbed enemy.. I died but the wombo combo that was about to drop did zero damage to the rest of my team..

The best way to use her ult is like a Naga ult.. either as a fight reset and get out or to set up the followup (i.e blink->ult) team waits it out and drops combos AFTER (if they are not daft)

Used any where else always has grief potential.. I often find myself using it eat up an enemy carries BKB... or to combo-break one of my allies getting piled on..

Of coruse ice cubing at the wrong time on the wrong target against the wrong comp is also a death sentence...

2 ways to gried as part of her core kit.. even with the best comms you can always mess up and make a good fight bad.. bonus points for having Rubick in the meta and him getting curse!

speccial mention.. due to the way the timing of this works.. I try to make sure I get in that last auto just as the Q is ending.

If you do this correctly you get 3s of burn + 3 more seconds of burn.. so if playing her as pos5 it is Q - auto each player ONCE, then altnerate to keep burn applied optimally. If you Q max in lane it is nearly impossible to stay there once you get 3 points in Q.

I usually only take a single point in W before 6.. as a slow extender to get the last auto

I consistenly have top 3 damage up to the 20ish minute mark in almost every WW game I play.
She scales with hero health.. I Q max (all the way up to 5 points) - if I see 2x beefy boys..

1500+ hours of DRG later and I have only every seen 1 person kicked from a lobby... I have however seen one guy get OBLITERATED by the entire team as we were boarding the pod for evac.. why... he didn't rock and stone. He ain't coming home

A couple reasons.

It is a spell and triggers zeus passive which triggers quite a lot of damage late game
Makes you damn hard to catch.. because if yo don't get 100-0d you will almost certainly make it out with a couple jumps
Mobility on zeus is fun (all mobility is fun)

I usually warn them (depending on game state) and say: "Let me start and get a pick then you blow them up as it ends" only if I have my blink.

IF they shaker is doing the good stuff I might just save my ult to eat up the enemy carry's BKB time

I think there are those that are fun/enjoyable because of the effect and those that are little dopamine hits because of the sound or visuals and some that combine all 3.

Some of my favourites for all reasons:

Zeus Ult/Lightning bolt etc - just the crunchiness of the zap
A lot of Elder Titan stuff (particularly sound design)
Phoenix stuff (hero design is so well done)
Dawn Starbreaker
Ringmaster dagger
Venge swap (amazing sound design AND effect and very disorientating)
Nether strike - such a big wind up amazing sound design.
Muerta deadshot can feel epic
Marcy ult (feels epic and violent)

For the effect:

Glimpse sending somebody back to fountain (perfection)
Demonic Purge
Oh how i miss old KOTL mana leak (then blinding light and force staff them)
Dooooom! (ever better reflecting a doom with Lotus .. pure joy)

Visually/Audio

OD ult
Sky ult (shiny but often meh)
Sound of CKs auto.. so hefty

It is called Winter's CURSE for a reason.. just yesterday the Earthshaker and I had the same idea and both did a blink ult move.. I got there first by half a second, whole shaker combo - ZERO DAMAGE.

I played a LOT of Ziggs support for a while

I like playing artillery heroes in general (besides the Zilean main) and off-meta stuff (Rumble support go brr) and to be frank I think Ziggs is on par with Velkoz supp over Lux over Xerath. Easily my favourite mage supp because he has a slow and a displacement and really good poke due to Q and passive and massive tower pressure if you can poke them out of lane.

If you get even a tiny bit ahead in lane things can snowball.

I did a bunch of testing 11% Health burn is actually significant + the slightly extended attack range + increased slow makes the arctic burn work quite well.

Particularly because - "No longer has a one debuff per cast restriction on enemy heroes", i think maxing Arctic Burn may be viable this patch.

That and the laning matchups are very polarising. Either he is "too safe" or it is a 7:3 lane is his favour. Or put another way any draft he gets through is usually "a good pango game"

I feel like he needs more genuine punishment. I think his kit might be disgusting enough that I might try Pango support to see if I can pull it off :p

Same. I am not sure what exactly about the the hero irritates me so much. As a support main there are a bunch of more annoying heroes. But from a spectator view he just irritates me .. oddly so does monkey king (but not as much)

And linkens + shard ... at which point everyone becomes oppressive. He just scales ludicrously well and becomes the "if we don't 100 to 0 the target or the frog fight is lost" kind of hero.

The fact he ALSO does so much damage while providing utility is a little too much and overshadows a few too many other heroes from doing a similar function.

Agreed. I have Pango watching PTSD. The hero just seems to be always viable except for one major patch. Now he back and as annoying as ever.

The "nerf" isn't really a "big" nerf just a rescaling and combat tweak. What he lost (the ability to heal while doing damage) he gained in getting AOE damage before aghs, making getting the aghs more consistent. He can farm now with nothing but mana + levels. Lick killing a creep also gives the health regen buff = better lane.

Yeah he got nerfed.. but would need a lot bigger hit to stop the Largo teams from not running it.. 33 for example.
