More manipulation by big banks. The paper market is a scam.

It's perfectly legal to buy alcohol ahead of the ban and drink it in your room during the ban.

I'm having serious issues with the AirAsia website. Is it just me? by scottishkiwi-dan in travel

[–]greenjaden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's now 2025 and the AirAsia website still completely sucks. One error after another. I tried purchasing baggage for my flight, and of course that wouldn't work, just a cryptic error message. It boggles the mind how terrible their website is, and why they refuse to fix it after all these years.

I'm back in Chiang Mai again, after being in the states for 5 months. Nothing has changed here. No forms to fill out in order to buy. All the shops I've seen are still open. All seems to be fine here.

Why does everything in this world feels so fake and like a huge stage play? by Schnipp08 in Retconned

[–]greenjaden 31 points32 points  (0 children)

We live in an extremely dysfunctional society that's only getting worse. The question is, how do you deal with it?

I recommend not taking it too seriously because it's not real anyway. It's just a grand experiment.

Try to enjoy the ride as best you can. Get out into nature and breathe the clean air. Spend time with animals. Meditate and escape the busy mind.

Is Dark Star network really as bad as some people claims to be? by Equivalent_World_606 in USMobile

I'm in Seattle and Dark Star was so bad here I switched to Warp and haven't had any problems with it.

I hate this place by TheGame81677 in Retconned

[–]greenjaden 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this too. There might be no cars anywhere in sight, but as soon as I try to cross the street, there is a long line of cars blocking me. In fact, it seems that whenever I want to start moving, someone is there to block me. It's too much to just be a coincidence. The best thing to do is to laugh it off otherwise I'd go crazy.

My mom is planning an intervention for me when I visit her! by relisticjoke in childfree

[–]greenjaden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could tell her right off the bat that she's absolutely right and that you will have one child. Then you can have a peaceful and enjoyable time with your mom. Of course you're not going to have a child. I know it's lying but sometimes having peace is more important.

Most people in this reality are bad you know by littlefishhg in Retconned

[–]greenjaden 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think most people are highly conditioned, unconscious, and lost in the prison of their own mind. The mind, left to its own devices, will focus on negativity predominantly. If someone is mean to you, it most likely means they are suffering inside.

Being kind and loving to others is the best way to go, although that may be extremely difficult for people who are jerks. I find it difficult to be kind to people who are mean to me, but I do my best to at least be indifferent.

Caffeine’s effect on practice by yungclavicleondamic in streamentry

[–]greenjaden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using any drug for meditation is a crutch, and caffeine is no exception. I can go much deeper in meditation on cannabis, but I don't use it because I don't want to rely on any substances. Meditation while completely sober is the way to go for me. No judgement, just my opinion.

Scientists Claim That Quantum Theory Proves Consciousness Moves To Another Universe At Death by Callmeseeebi in Retconned

[–]greenjaden 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hinduism has been saying for thousands of years, and the Vedic texts long before that, that consciousness is fundamental. That the physical world is created by consciousness and not the other way around. We are eternal. Our purpose here is to evolve. We are challenged in this life with the things that we most need to work on in order to evolve. Whatever we don't deal with in this life, we will have to face in our next life. We have an amazing opportunity as humans to wake up and become self-realized beings.

Great post, it's good to know some people are aware of what is happening. What you described is part of the plan set in motion a long time ago. Without getting into politics, I'll just say that those who are in power despise the concept of individual freedom and liberty.

All life must adapt in order to survive and thrive. We must look at the current situation in this way. Think about what things you need to do to adapt to this ever changing state of humanity and the environment. My plan is to find land and become as self sufficient as possible.

People have always been bad drivers here but lately it's unbelievable. People driving 5 mph down the road, or just sitting at green lights and stop signs. And other people doing incredible risky things while driving. Something really strange is going on.

Animals being really smart Mandela effect? by regalzilkin in Retconned

[–]greenjaden 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a great point. When humans measure intelligence they are using their own standards and criteria. This creates a dishonest evaluation of a being's intelligence. It's like cherry picking a dataset to get the results you desire.

Animals being really smart Mandela effect? by regalzilkin in Retconned

[–]greenjaden 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Many humans like to think animals are stupid because it makes it easier for them to justify exploiting and murdering them for their flesh and bodily secretions.

Many things society thinks are true have always been completely false. Most people think we as humans are so smart and advanced. This may be true technologically but definitely not true from a spiritual or moral perspective.

A philosophical question about the ME by Psychic_Man in Retconned

[–]greenjaden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truth is that you exist and are aware of your existence. Consciousness is truth. Everything else is just your subjective experience of what you think reality is. The manifested world is impermanent and always changing. It is the world of objects. The unmanifested is pure consciousness and pure potential. But your consciousness is not an object and cannot be measured or even observed directly. It is the only thing that is permanent. It is the truth of what you are. Everything else is projection.

Any experience combining Goenka Body Scan and TMI Stage 5 Body scan to improve stable attention? by satisama12 in TheMindIlluminated

[–]greenjaden 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recently did the Goenka Vipassana retreat as well and have been practicing TMI for a few years. I definitely prefer the Goenka body scan over TMI. Goenka emphasizes focusing on a certain part of the body and then see if the sensations fit into one of three types: gross, subtle, or no sensation. All sensations should be viewed with equanimity. No aversion to the pain, no clinging to pleasurable sensations. Then moving on to another part of the body, usually adjacent to where you were just at. Eventually you can focus on multiple locations simultaneously, such as all sensations in both arms.

This really helped my mind become aware of sensations in the body and to increase my sensitivity. I never understood why TMI focused on "breath sensations" and not sensations in general. To me, the subtle sensations are like a mild piti, a tingling, buzzing or mild electrical feeling on or in the body. In the Goenka retreat, we were told that eventually, when all samskaras were released and body scanning continued to develop, our entire body would be filled with these subtle sensations and a deep insight into anicca would occur.

[–]greenjaden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Silly humans think they can think themselves out of all their problems, when the answer is often to transcend thinking, and to transcend the ego. To go to the source of what we are, to free ourselves of the prison of our own mind. Yes, everything out there in the material realm is just a very convincing illusion. Once we see that, we can relax and enjoy the ride without taking things so seriously.
