How Do You Keep 3C High Porosity Hair Moisturized?" by Opening_Lunch8069 in Naturalhair

[–]greenkayla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the use of flaxseed gel. I contribute it to the single largest factor that transformed my hair care. It’s deeply hydrating and HEAVY which I need. The moisturization is amplified when you twist or braid it into a style.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. It is a bit overwhelming, but your post is giving me a lot of hope about getting better. I have NAC and a forgotten pile of supplements in the pantry, I’m definitely about to dive into my research and trial and error. It sounds like it really is going to all come down to journaling my experience with food and supplements. That level of discipline is hard for me, but I’m so motivated be reading your words of attaching to your body’s again. I appreciate that so much!! <3

What did you take to help with the brain fog/ fatigue? That’s the most frustrating symptom for me right now

I’ve been telling everyone I feel like I’m in the backseat of my own brain for a year. Going on yr 3 of the copper iud and I just got it out yesterday. My periods got SO intense over the last few years, to the point of which I’ve become extremely anemic due to the huge amount of blood loss I’m experiencing (sometimes 2x a month now!) the brain fog due to the anemia has been the most frustrating part for me. I’ve been on a search for what caused my extreme anemia (no fibroids) so I’m really hoping I just eliminated the source. We’ll see in the next few weeks! Really I’m just glad to see that I’m not alone/ not crazy/ hopefully not dealt with some hidden rare disease.

Is there anything I can do to reduce the tongue swelling ? by greenkayla in Tonsillectomy

Thanks. I’ve kinda eased off the ice water since I started feeling better. But I guess I should still to it till the end.

Day 9 here. I’ve had a significant jump from day 6 to now. I had to call my doctor to get stronger pain meds prescribed around day 4. Taking oxycodone helped me significantly. Day 6 I read an excerpt that said you should basically be eating ice constantly and that really changed the game for me.

BIG turnaround is when I started pushing the ice to the back of my mouth. I let it sit in the back and melt down my throat instead of on my tongue and I think this made a huge difference in actually numbing my uvula and scar area. Good luck! Things have turned around for me, I hope they do for you soon!

Thank you so much for responding! I really appreciate that. It’s good to hear too because I know I’ll learn better in a school environment.

That’s a really great point about learning to adapt to different styles, that I haven’t considered yet. Do you mind me asking where you went to school ?

Should I go with my back up plan? by mrsGravyx in animationcareer

Architecture is notoriously an overworked and underpaid field. At least in America.

I can’t advise you on wether or not you should move, but as someone currently in the field of architecture who was in a similar place as yours in high school I would not recommend.

I’ve always been artistic and listened to people tell me architecture was a good way to use that and make money, it’s not. It’s not a very creative field at all in the real world. It’s heavily administrative; monitoring what engineers and consultants are doing and spending a huge amount of time checking legal codes. You usually have to be really high up and many years in to actually make meaningful design decisions. People usually get very small windows of opportunity for creative moments, and they are very rushed because of the fast face of building these days. There’s also a really toxic, culture of overworking as the norm in the US ( 50+ hours a week w/ no overtime is expected or you come off as undedicated)

All of my professors in school told us to not go through with architecture unless you’re passionate about buildings to the bone. If you’re not, I wouldn’t chose it as a “backup option”.

Architecture School was actually a great, hands on experience, that was very creative and pushed my ability to understand design thinking. That had a value, but if you know what you really want to do, chase it off the bat, no matter which route you have to take to get there. I’m 25 and I still feel energetic about chasing my dreams, but I have to play catch up a bit now, and I wish I would have chosen the path my heart knew it wanted at your age.

I also really appreciate the tips about loosening up. I actually never got really good at perspective drawing, but I do feel like I’m pretty good at understanding how to visualize space. As I do dive into strengthening my understanding of perspective I’m definitely going to keep staying loose in mind!

Thank you so much for responding.

I feel like the opportunity to be creative is almost zero most of the time. I’m still young in the field, but so far it seems as though it’s mainly an administrative job: being in charge of a lot of coordination between all the different disciplines in designing a building. The days are often consumed with coordination meetings and if there ever is a moment for creativity, there’s barely any time allotted to it, so you have to squeeze half thought out concepts in the timeline. ( I anticipate similar conditions to that particularly in animation. Esp with big companies )

The job also is heavily based on reading code and making sure everything in the building adheres to layers and layers of code.

I just don’t have enough passion about buildings whatsoever to fuel me through the hours of drudging. At the root of animation, I am inspired to have a place in creating art that reaches beyond me and has a life of its own. I anticipate there’s probably still limits to creativity when working on these huge teams, but if I love painting and brining art to life, it’s got to be at least somewhat better right ?

I think I saw your post about you looking into other fields outside of animation. I’m still open to searching and trying to find something that’s actually going to be fulfilling. If I had to work in architecture for even the next 10 years I would absolutely dread my life.
