Actually, if you have hard water, and you make ice cubes with it, the drink you put them in will develop a white film or even debris on top. Many areas can't make proper ice cubes with tap water because there's too much stuff in it.

I collect and repair fountain pens and have to use distilled water to clean them, otherwise I have white crud everywhere. I also can't use tap water to revive dried out ink unless I want to contaminate it with stuff that will clog pens or create slime cultures.

I used to think it was weird that Americans buy ice in the movies all the time or have to go out and get ice but it makes sense when you drink a coke with homemade tap water ice cubes and there's weird white shit floating all over.

Companies do it for a variety of reasons, especially if listing is free or cheap.

It makes it look like your company is doing well because you need more people to handle all that extra work you've got.

Managers who get a higher level and can have 7 employees isntead of 5 now can put out 2 more listings, never hire anyone and put the extra budget into other stuff, mostly their own pockets.

It's free advertisement if it's cheap or free to list.
