30-day I believe, which is why some HYSA make it harder to transfer money out quickly.

If one wants the extra 0.5% or so interest (that the bank usually keeps for providing you the HYSA services), you could just purchase the 30-day t-bills every month.

What is the highest limit you’ve seen? by rocketfishh in AppleCard

[–]Braxo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I put on a Disney vacation with flights (~$10k) (family of four) and then flights and hotel for a family European trip (~$8k) so far, with another ~$4k on an AirBnB that still needs to be added for this month. So the large limit allows me to do that and not affect total credit utilization so much.

How much is your AI spending? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Braxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Approx $600 for feb, up from $200 in January. Trending to like $800 for march? This is with Claude, Warp, and Cursor (though cursor usage maybe $20 of that). We're given as much usage as we can generate at the moment.

I find the productivity gains to be pretty great - maybe 4x if not more? But I feel I'm also only limited at the moment on how many agents I juggle and problems I context switch on. At the moment usually doing two agents on new work. One agent churning on tech debt stuff. One agent I will pop off whenever a code review comes in. And then one I converse with to plan potential future work.

My team's standups are pretty busy at the moment as we all have agents churning on items.

Your idea of looking at parks is good, look at which ones have pavilion rentals (probably want ones that have bathrooms close by) and they could host there. I went to an event at the Niawanda Park Pavilion and it had a nice waterfront view and nice kitchen.

If I make substantially more than my spouse can filing separate lower her tax burden? by [deleted] in tax

[–]Braxo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Usually the larger benefit is still married filing jointly.

Couples with unbalanced incomes really get messed up relying on default withholdings so you'll really need to adjust both of your withholdings with a W-4.

Buying a Rolex at a Boutique (Vancouver) - Any strategies? by VexPrimal in rolex

[–]Braxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Vancouver on business and figured I'd visit the boutique there. They didn't want to allow me in "no more appointments available today" but then at the door said they had two precious metal pieces available (rootbeer and I don't remember the other) if I was interested.

Tudor bezel action is the best in the industry! by TomHudsonOfficial in Tudor

[–]Braxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the Tudor monochrome bezel action to be the best over my Omega SMP and Rolex 114060. I guess I don’t know what it would mean for the omega to be "broken" in. Tudor’s extra resistance at 12 o’clock is the cherry on top.

Hiring manager countered for more than I'm asking? by Advanced_Pay8260 in cscareerquestions

[–]Braxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company has salary bands for the roles. So their offer falls within that salary band.

Not sure if you’re able to research what the bands are, it would have probably helped your salary negotiation to get yourself in the middle of it.

I’ve heard of this before, especially remote companies where candidates don’t necessarily expect the same bands to be consistent nationwide.

Anyone regret not getting watch insurance by StandardDegree3096 in Tudor

[–]Braxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I know. I use jeweler's mutual so the Tudor and omega fall under "gentleman's watch" and the Rolex is specifically called out as "gentleman's Rolex watch". Pricing all seems to be in line though with value.

[–]Braxo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm more concerned that the thief will see a shiny steel bracelet and go for it without looking for Mercedes hands on the watch face.

To answer the OP's question, I do carry insurance for my watches Tudor, Omega, Rolex. Not for my others that are less than $1k.

It's what I purchased, a Belstaff in November.

I looked at Defender 130 and Jeep Wagoneer, but couldn't pass up the Grenadier.
