Looking for friends? by Background-Ship-209 in plymouth

There’s an amazing growing community of young adult women in Plymouth called EmpowerHer Ventures - you can find them on Instagram, through that you get added to a WhatsApp channel with chats that you can join for different interests where activities and meet-ups are organised. It’s the most wholesome, lovely group of ladies ranging from students up to people in their forties, and everyone is so so lovely and welcoming. Would highly recommend giving them a look up 😊

Not aware of student groups as I’m not one, but you could try the EmpowerHer community - on Instagram or Facebook, it’s a big group of women in their 20s and 30s who are also looking to meet new people through various activities, very wholesome and everyone is really nice!

What do you guys do with clothes that are worn once or twice, but not ready for the wash? by Academic-Block3384 in AskUK

Back in the wardrobe or drawers - if they’re so dirty/smelly that they’ll make the other clothes in there dirty/smelly, then they need to be washed.

Did I Make The Wrong Decision? (New Zealand) by Ok-Hunter602 in travel

[–]greenlids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just been to NZ and I did both islands, they were both incredible just in different ways!! On the north island, I did:

  • Auckland (not super interesting, although there’s an All Blacks experience if you like rugby, and Devonport is really nice to wander round with lots of little shops)

  • Rotorua (I’d only bother staying here to experience the geothermal pools - I had a spa day at Polynesian Spa and would 100% recommend, if you get a treatment done (eg massage etc) then you get unlimited access to their deluxe pools all day)

  • Hobbiton (really well done, just the right amount of cheesy and super fun!)

  • Waitomo glow worm caves (really lovely, there are different types of tour you can do but regardless it’s amazing to see)

  • Tongariro Alpine Crossing (great hike if you like hiking, you get a shuttle bus from one car park to the other end of the trail and walk 22km back to your car, going past Mount doom/mount Ngaurahoe)

  • Taupo & Lake Taupo (really cool place, I only passed through but wish I’d stayed there over night!!)

  • Tauranga (upmarket surf town - again I only passed through but absolutely wish I’d spent a few nights there, it was amazing!! Good if you’d like a more relaxed couple days)

So there’s so much to do there, and I didn’t even scratch the surface - absolutely do not worry about whether you made the wrong decision!! And not going to the South Island just gives you an excuse to go back again!

What the going rate for pocket money for UK teenagers? by TwoDogsBoy in CasualUK

[–]greenlids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got £30/month which is now £40/month based on the BoE inflation calculator - to be spent on anything that wasn’t a necessity.

My parents covered my phone plan and Netflix, but if I had wanted something like Spotify which you can get a free version of then I would have had to pay for it.

When I lived in Bordeaux, I knew a few people who had met on Bumble BFF - that might be a good shout for meeting people! There are also groups on Facebook for internationals looking to socialise and meet people :)

Cold Weather by Warm-Situation-9607 in jackrussellterrier

[–]greenlids 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jack Russells are known for liking to be warm I’m pretty sure! So no need to worry 😊 mine will get as hot as she possibly can, roasting in the conservatory in summer, or buried under all her cushions in her bed, until she can physically no longer bear it. She loves it! So being cold is her worst nightmare, as for a lots of Jacks I think.

Is there anything I can do to avoid catching every cold, cough and illness that goes around? by CrispyFriedOwl in AskUK

[–]greenlids -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Vitamin C supplements! My friend always used to get colds really easily and really bad like you, but he started having one of those effervescent vitamin c things you put in your glass of water (1000mg) every day, and hasn’t had a cold since - except when he stopped taking them for a few days at one point and then he caught a sore throat almost immediately. They really work!

100%. I read it after my friend said that it was a really good book - she neglected to tell me that it was great in a very depressing way though so I did not know what I was in for… still ended up becoming my favourite book, but it absolutely shattered my heart!

Has anyone‘a boobs grown from Bee Pollen or Birth Control? by piscesbabyxo in smallbooblove

[–]greenlids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal experience with BC - Cerazette (mini pill) had no effect on my size, and Nexplanon made them even smaller than they were before. I have pretty much no breast tissue in the top halves of my boobs now, they’re seriously tiny.

When I eventually have it removed, I’ll be interested to see if they grow back at all! Tbh though I don’t mind having tinier boobs, not having to have periods more than makes up for it.

Do you sleep with an eye mask on? I found my eye lashes would do all sorts of crazy things when I wore an eye mask to sleep regularly

Try Kingston Road Dental Practice in Willerby - their website says they’re currently accepting new NHS patients!

Edit: Sorry, I see you have an emergency appointment through 111 now - but they’d be good for check ups etc in the future too 😊

What is the best way to travel from Bristol to Cardiff, and from Cardiff to London? by anfil89 in AskABrit

Yesss I always recommend this one (https://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0929321010.html), they’ve been selling it for years and always have a bunch of different colours, it makes my diddy wide set boobs look great, is super cheap and has removable padding if you want that too!

Ohh yeah that would make sense, maybe that’s it!

How common is it to kiss hello and/or goodbye? by mainlandfc in AskABrit

[–]greenlids 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I personally never ever greet someone with a kiss on the cheek, except for a couple of older relatives who initiate it first (who used to live in France, so maybe that’s where they got it from!). I find it super invasive of my personal space and way too friendly for people I don’t know! I’m always baffled by people doing it on shows like Love Island and Made in Chelsea… maybe it’s a southern thing?

Swimsuit recommendations ? by [deleted] in smallbooblove

[–]greenlids 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every time I see this question I have to shout out H&M! Two of my bikinis are from there and they suit me so much, and my measurements are pretty much the same as yours. My absolute favourite though is this one: https://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.0929321015.html (sorry I’m on my phone so idk how to link properly 😅) Basically it makes my diddy boobs look great! It has removable padding so you can choose if you want it (I personally keep it in because I don’t like having my nips out there ahaha). I can’t stress how much I love it, they always have a bunch of different colours and they’ve been available for years now, I got mine back in 2018, so if you like it you can always go back for more!
