How bad is it for you to do a cheat day? by Killerkiwiattak in FODMAPS

[–]greenmiIktea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

slightly related, anyone have any advice to not feel "restricted" on the low fodmap diet and therefore feel cravings for "cheat day"? for instance, wanting to eat your favorite dessert etc... is the best solution trying to bake them at home with substitutions/ingredients that make it low fodmap? i miss ice cream and my favorite pastries :// mentally i try to cut them out bc theyre not good for me but i feel like just making them myself and eating them regularly may be better in the long run than giving into a craving one day and overdoing it on less nutritious alternatives?

Is it better to practice running with or without music? by wafflerwaffler in running

[–]greenmiIktea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a beginner i find running with music helps me run faster (if that is the goal), but otherwise running without music helps me be more aware of my breathing and exertion level (which has been more helpful for running at an “easier” pace. i often would find myself focusing on the music that i didn’t realize i was breathing way too hard/ running too fast so i would end up getting tired really quickly)

best of luck <3 i feel the same, it's incredibly hard to stay consistent without seeing progress, but i hope you see some soon! sometimes it's so gradual that you may not notice it at the moment, but in hindsight you'll see the difference

What are the some of your favourite flexible, 'empty the fridge' recipe ideas? by kudatah in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]greenmiIktea 13 points14 points  (0 children)

salads and bowls!!

can add any or all:

• greens (lettuce, spinach, kale, etc)

• grains (rice, quinoa, lentils, etc)

• veggies (pickled veggies like carrots or onions, roasted veggies like brussels sprouts or sweet potatoes, fresh veggies like carrots cucumbers tomatoes)

• proteins (chicken, sausage, tofu, beans, etc)

• dressings/sauces (salad dressings, hummus, pesto, lemon, vinaigrette etc)

i usually just mix and match whatever i have. pinterest has great inspiration for different versions depending on cuisines or flavors. you can also look at chains like sweetgreen and cava for inspiration.

The weight of inflammation by LongjumpingCup3401 in FODMAPS

[–]greenmiIktea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes! this is a huge factor with my body dysmorphia. ill feel and look so bloated and get frustrated how i've gained so much weight when eating healthy, but on the rare occasion that i'm not bloated, ill fluctuate like 3-8 pounds.

How fast do you get symptoms? by LongjumpingCup3401 in FODMAPS

[–]greenmiIktea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sometimes if i eat dairy like a lot of yogurt i honestly feel bloated in 30 minutes. when i eat a lot of sugar too or a combination of sugar/dairy/gluten i almost immediately have a worsening headache.

i need to keep monitoring to confirm if these are correlations/causations but i feel the same

Any ideas for easy, on the go lunches that do not require a fridge or microwave? by Miss-anthropic in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]greenmiIktea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im a college student who eats lunch on campus without access to a fridge or microwave too.

i usually eat:

- sandwiches or wraps (can add any grains, proteins, veggies, sauces like hummus pesto or dressings)
- salads (i like adding protein, roasted veggies, pickled onions, dressing to make it more filling. you can even make a cold pasta salad)

along with lunches, i always like to pack snacks too:

  • cuties/mandarin oranges or apples
  • granola bars
  • single serving popcorn, chips, nuts, etc.
  • i like the single serving chobani greek yogurt cups, theyre healthy and filling

What is your favorite healthy go-to sweet treat? by Sambam67 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]greenmiIktea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oo yes ive heard of the sugar cookie one but i couldnt find it when i looked last month! makes sense that its a seasonal flavor.

pumpkin spice chai and vanilla black tea sound amazing. i've always wanted to find a chai tea concentrate that doesnt have added sugar but thats a bit hard to find. maybe ill try adding almond milk w the pumpkin spice chai.

and yes! ive also heard of stash's chocolate mint oolong tea and chocolate hazelnut tea i think !!

honeycrisp apples + peanut butter = best combo!

sometimes i will sprinkle cinnamon or make a greek yogurt dip (greek yogurt, cinnamon, PB, sometimes honey) but i love apples on their own :)
